Couple things to add

Plus

  • No more hiss on videos thankfully (a 7 plus specific issue, i had 4 replacements all had the dreaded hiss in silent recording)
  • Battery is indeed better than the 7 plus

Fully agree coming from a Jet Black 7 Plus.

I also replaced devices for the hissing and crackles and my battery is better on the X than the plus just.

Probably asked to death in here, so im sorry if it has. But what is everyone using for a fast charge setup? I was going to use my iPad charger when the new update comes out as I dont want to buy a USB-C to lightening cable ?

Had mines a couple of days now and my biggest complaint is the lack of landscape support like the 7+ had for the home screen and the mail app. Liked the mail app landscape.

Will finally get my hands on phone on wed, despite it being delivered on the 3rd (been away).

Any decent cases on ebay? Just want a clear one with a screen protector (usually remove the screen protector after a while but stops those first week scratches)

Not sure im that bothered by wireless charging TBH

I can't decide what to do. I have a iPhone 6 128gb that I've had since launch, so any newer iPhone will feel like a good upgrade to me. Battery life on my 6 is going downhill, apps tend to take longer to load then I'd like and sometimes apps crash. (doesn't seem to handle multi tasking very well). I am certain it performed better when I originally got, maybe I should factory reset and start a fresh by loading stuff on it?

I do like the X but its the price tag I can't quite get over at the moment. And I'd have to go with the 256gb model...so thats £1150, chuck a bit more at a case and it's probably closer to £1200.

Every time I try an iPhone 7 Plus or 8 Plus it just feels a bit too big in the hands...no doubt the larger screen is useful and great for web browsing. One handed use feels a bit cumbersome to me.

Has anyone else held onto the iPhone 6 all this time and then decided to make the jump to a new iPhone X or 8?

I’m using the 29w Apple PD charger with the USB C to lighting cable. I get 52% in 30 minutes. I also have a 12w Apple charger that I have not tested yet but reviews state that you get around 40% in 30 minutes.

I went from the 6 to the 8. The 8 miles faster/better BUT the issue I have is it doesn’t really feel any different. You don’t really have the new phone feel and the fun of getting use to it.

The iPad charger is fast enough and spending extra money for the MacBook charger and cable isn’t really worth it for an extra 10-12% battery after 30 minutes.

I’m tempted to swap to the iPhone X and i have the 8 plus now, I don’t actually need to upgrade but something new and shiny is always appreciated :p

I've also seen the corporate deals we get at work like 20% off at EE but I think thats just for contracts.

I like iOS, had the iPhone 3G when it first came out so have seen it evolve over the years.

I it ain’t broke, don’t fix it :p

iOS is just fantastic. :) I don’t care for customisation etc.

I've never really seen the need for customisation either. I remember when you couldn't even have a wallpaper background on the iPhone home screen and it really didn't bother me at all. :p

I used to have android (samsung) work mobile but luckily in the past year my work decided move to & supply iPhone SE's. Everything just works so much better/quicker imo - emails especially as we no longer have to go through a third party app. The SE feels dead small though.

Im hoping IOS 11.2 will fix the silly blank space below the keyboard. dont see any reason as to why Apple left it in. Just seems like they're cutting corners

I think that'll be here to stay. It's annoying and that the emoji button is there i keep missing it.

It just seems very messy from Apple. I don't understand the need for the open space, and looks lazy. Poor from Apple as far as im concerned

Yeah i know, but seems to be what is happening with that space with other apps that are updated for the X
