Hi all

I would really appreciate your help.

I want to build a new gaming PC from scratch and I need monitor, keyboard, mouse as well. Ideally staying under £1500. I also have a special request as I want as much red as possible. I am thinking case highlights, keyboard back lighting etc.

It has been a long time since I built a PC. Probably 10 years or so and the last time it was in a Globalwin 802 case and I broke the Athlon CPU when trying to get the cooler on. Has that got any easier?

This is for my Fiancee who loves gaming and will mostly be playing MMORPG's so I was looking at the Intel I5 series and ideally 16GB RAM. If I can fit an SSD in for the OS as well that would be great. Does the I5 come with a stock cooler? Is it OK to use that?

Finally, I would love to build it myself but is it beyond a novice? Considering the amount of time since I did this is how I would consider myself.

Close to £300 savings from black Friday deals !!

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,343.48 (includes shipping: £12.60)

Select a case you like and others can help more with mouse and keyboard then I can . Gigabyte UK warranty , 10 years with PSU, Ryzen cheapness and will overclock to 3.7Ghz on stock cooler. £100 saving on a freesync VA 1440p 75hz screen !

Orbital took you quite literally and not only went with red RGB but completely with the red team too.

That is attention to detail ;)

In answer to your question, I don't think breaking CPU'S has got any easier. AMD have got this screw down cooler thing that makes it a lot harder to do. However, with the correct application of force and a hammer, it is still possible with very little effort.

I was gonna go with red Strix but only on Intel platform, the saw Gaming 3 reduced to under £90! Boom
Case though is a personal touch and with keyboards , I'm useless, have ducky shine limited editions that don't get used haha
