The I7 and GTX 1060 are formidable for 1080p ultra settings gaming between 40-80fps.

Laptop comes with 4k screen. all I will need to do in keep game to 1080

I have a 4k Dell laptop screen. You won't notice any difference between it and a decent 1080p IPS.

4K adds a lot of weight, hurst the battery life a lot, and windows its a bit hit and miss when supporting 4K screens (IMO) I often have to configure apps to force the right scaling.

Depends on what games you are playing. I bet it would run Borderlands 1 in 4K. Maybe it's just me who only ever seems to play old games.
