Good stuff. Wha sort of deal did you get with EE?
Managed to get the 256GB X with the 100GB/month deal (Including BeatsX which i'll sell) and the AirPods for £78.99 a month as I get a discount for EE via work. Much more than I was paying previously, but not bad considering should be £87.99+14 for both!

No idea how i'll use 100GB a month, though..!

I've had the X for a week now and absolutely love it! Face ID was what I was most apprehensive about prior to purchase but it works 95% of the time and don't think I would want to go back to Touch ID again. The 5% it doesn't work is when you wake up in morning and if you happen to have bottom of face covered with hand due to leaning etc.

I'm coming from a 6 so for me there's a lot of upgrades

- ludicrously good camera quality. This was the main reason for me upgrading from the 6.
- lightening quick, I'm simply not used to opening apps and them force opening without delay lol
- screen size and quality is brilliant. It's perfect in the hand and in the pocket even in slim fit trousers etc
- battery life is fantastic; on Monday I took it off charge at 5.30am, used it as sat nav for 3.5hrs with screen on during that time, used it for YouTube for about 20 minutes, usual browsing, Instagram, snap chat during the day and few calls etc and at 9pm when got back I still had battery remaining. Couldn't believe it. No need to carry battery pack anymore!
- force touch is actually useful and not a gimmick
- the overall quality and feel of the phone

I had a good play around with my bro in laws S8 yesterday and there is just nothing about that would have swayed me towards it even with the massive price difference. It's difficult to justify of quantify to android users and tbf the X price tag is difficult to justify overall however I much prefer the Apple ecosystem and when it's something you use each and everyday and keep for at least 2-3 years (in my case) any saving you make doesn't become worthwhile if you've had to sacrifice.

The only issue now is the X has made iPad Air feel so slow I'm comparison.Howver I will not be upgrading until the new ones come out which I imagine will go the same way as the X with minimal bezels and Face ID?

I had failed FaceID instances upon wakening however, when it fails, just enter your pin. It then knows it’s you and re-learns your morning face. Mine works fantastic when I first wake in the morning and check it during the night.

Same applies for any failed attempt. The distance FaceID works at is impressive.

Turn attention off and it’s even better!

I'd also agree that faceID is streets ahead of what I thought it would be, so easy to use and now I can unlock with my gloves on while at work. It does seem to get better too over time. I would say without doubt that for me its better than touch id.

The only time I find faceID unreliable is first thing when I wake up and I grab my phone from the bedside table, it doesn't always unlock first or second try, probably the phones way of telling me I look like **** first thing :D

Pricey.

I bought this one and it works wonders at work when connected to a iPad charger. Might buy another for home. My main reason for liking it is that I don't need to angle my face over my phone when i want to use it. Just tap the screen and it's unlocked. Perfect.

So I went out and manage to get a Samsung Galaxy S8+ for under £500 thanks to a great Amazon warehouse deal and used it for a few days hoping I could make the switch to Android. Guess what, I can't. No matter how much more advanced the S8+ is I just can't help going back using the iPhone X.

Agree with this, it even works from waist

What is it you can’t get used to on the S8+? And what do you miss from the iPhone X?

I want a charger that is a known quality and not one that is branded Ho Life .... £30 isn’t too bad considering it can be used in two positions.

Fair enough. The one i have charges fast enough for me, not tried it with a regular plug but with a iPad charger it seems to go marginally slower than a wire.

I was just using my phone in a case flat on a table.

The haptic feedback kept playing up. I couldn't figure out why it was activating with simple swipes. It seemed the no matter what button I tapped or direction I swipped the taptic feedback engine was playing up.

What could I be doing wrong to be getting all these feedback errors?!

Turns out it was the phone rocking on the camera protrusion and tapping the table every time I touched the screen....

*facepalm*
