These are two rather short lived deals, so do not miss out as the value for money is very good on this one! :)

Triple Fan Strix Cooler with RGB Aura Lighting?

Description might need a tweak ;)

Hi all thinking of buying the eight pack for £599 and putting it with a 1070, what do you think the components are like for future proofing also is it a good motherboard for overclocking graphics card and CPU, I have not had a PC for gaming for about 1 year so out of the loop a bit appreciate all your feedback thank you

Fast in today's gaming scene from every benchmark, but being a quad core it's not really something I'd personally sink my money into. I probably don't have much room to be giving advice seeing as I've just bought an x58 mobo and a Xeon 'X' series, but it cost me under £150 for cpu, board and RAM... May even age better bring 6 core, who knows lol

I wouldn't buy a 4 core CPU for gaming unless you upgrade every 12-18mths. Games are finally becoming more multi threaded and 4 cores, even highly clocked are starting to top out.

even highly clocked are starting to top out.

I've had zero performance issues with any game I play, it'll still be good for 18 months - 2 years I reckon. These things tend to move verrrrrrrrrry slowly. (but I knew it was a short-ish term build)

edit - 8c Cannondales are here soon (Z390), might switch out for a nice ITX mini-sys of one of those (as soon as OcUK start binning 5Ghz versions) :)

So really you're all saying a 8600 six-core would be better with this build?

6 reals cores is going to beat 4 cores with hyper threading everytime gaming.

Websites are even putting my cheapo 8400 @ 3.9 equal to an overclocked 7700k for gaming so a 8600k is going to be much faster than the 7700k.

If you like more threads there is always the locked i7 8700 with its 4.6 turbo.
