4k TV

Or

Upgrade my GTX 1060 to a 1080ti (can sell my 1060 afterwards)
+
Extra 27" monitor (already have 165hz 27" IPS display)

Kind of having this dilemma with myself.. I miss couch gaming, and my 1060 runs everything i play pretty well already..

Any input? :| - i heard Volta isn't being released for gamers until 2019 now.

PS. I already own 86+ games on XBONE from previous digital downloads - and around 200+ on steam.

What sort of 4k TV?

And I don't see the need for another monitor if you basically already have the best there is - a 165hz/1440p.

If it was me, I’d go for the Xbox and tv. Couch gaming is awesome and you will also have a nice new 4K tv for other things like Netflix streaming etc.

But tbh, I think I’ve finished with high end pc gaming now. It’s too expensive and I don’t see the vast differences between PC and console that I used to.

I agree, i'm going to spend the rest of my working life behind a PC so i want to enjoy my games elsewhere...

Its also far more social.

An XBOX One X + an HDR TV (if that's what you were considering) does seem to be a better experience than even the highest end pc gaming in a few ways. I'd agree, go with the XBOX + TV.

a ps4? and a copy of bloodborne?
I'd get a PS4 Pro, but it seems like a half measure.. Why sony would release a console that "pretends" to hit 4k and doesn't even play 4k blu-rays is beyond me..

Also as far as i can see, Uncharted, Bloodbourne, Horizon zero dawn, God of war, The last of us.. Are the only ps4 exclusives i'd be interested in..

But.. Xbox one has some of my favourite games of all time and a lot of which are getting 4k HDR upgrades.. and of those many will run natively at 3840x2160 unlike the PS4 pro checker-boarding and only reaching around 1300p in games like AC Origins.

Drugs, alcohol, hookers.

Seriously, though, if you can't decide then you obviously don't 'need' anything. So just save it until you find something you really want or really need.

If you add up the hours i have spent playing games then split them into two categories, one being high graphics games, other being low graphics games, or low resources games. I think the high graphics games would end up being maybe 300 hours in total. But the others would be over 20,000 hours (yes seriously)

So the point is, a 1080 (which i have btw) is totally useless for actual fun. In fact i have on so many occasions disabled graphical features because it makes me play better, my frame rate being over 100 on any possible settings..

I did have triple monitor setup, which is useless for gaming IMO, the only good thing about it was 1) Teamspeak window on separate monitor 2) some sort of information for games on a browser tab on separate monitor, 3) better working environment if you actually do work on your PC that you need to open multiple windows and view them at the same time.... FYI my 3rd monitor (the left one, i literally never used exept for option 3 for uni work... and also multi-table poker, but i cannot see all at the same time, so if i look at the right monitor, the left one is out of my view or at-least out of my focus and i end up timing out on tables lol..

I usually buy a new PC like every 3-4 years tbh, if i recommend based on my opinion i would just say to wait, and build a new PC..

You miss couch gaming? Lol. I still find it weird that people talk about this as if it can't be done with a PC.

I've got my PC hooked up to my TV in the living room, have done for years now. Get yourself a Roccat Sova or if you want to go wireless, the Logitech G613 is decent, pair it with a wireless gaming mouse (maybe a G602, 603 or G900).

You could always boot into Steam big picture mode at start up and use a PS4/Xbox/Steam Controller, etc. If that isn't a couch gaming experience, then i don't know what is...
