Tea drinkers - Which varieties do you drink?

I've been working my way through the Teapigs range and I'm liking quite a few of their teas but I'm concerned about the pricing and paying £4 for 15 teabags on a regular basis! The quality of their teas seems so much higher than anything I've tried before though and I don't want to back to Tetley/Yorkshire/etc teabags! I must be getting snobby in my old age :)

Can anyone recommend any loose leaf teas with quality on a par to what's in Teapig's bags? Happy to invest in a strainer/infuser if required as I expect loose leaf is probably going to be the way to go for quality and value.

This may surprise you to learn but tea pigs also do loose leaf tea, ordered some from their website last week with 10 quid off a 40 quid spend.

Much cheaper for the same volume of tea.

Used to drink many different forms of green tea and went through a phase of drinking Earl Grey but it gave me headaches.

Nowadays I drink mint teas exclusively..find its so good for my digestion. Day-to-day it’s Twinings Pure Peppermint for ease of use, but if I’m feeling like spoiling myself then Twinings Thoroughly Minted is nice. If I’ve got the time then I grow my own black peppermint and regular mint plants in the garden so infuse those together to make a lovely fresh strong tea.

Tazo tea is the best , normally found in KFC. It tastes really nice haha but I can never find boxes of it to buy anywhere...

£8 for 20 bags :O damn that is expensive I need to find a job near a Starbuckd lol
It's a couple of quid per bag (cup) in Starbucks. ;)

Edit: I just looked and it looks like Starbucks serve Teavana now instead of Tazo.

I too am after some better tea and looking to delve into leaves.

I only really drink tea once a week (same with coffee) as i don’t like the idea of being addicted to caffeine and letting it play with me body.

Mainly I’ve tried your basic breakfast blends available in supermarkets. Yorkshire is a go to but I saw a Yorkshire gold breakfast blend that is one of the best I’ve tried not too long ago.

I’m guessing being new and my existing choice I should start with some Assam leaves? Where’s a good place to buy. Price isn’t too much of a Bother as stated before I don’t drink it loads so am happy to spend a fair bit to get some decent tea as I know it will last me.

Oh and I would need a strainer too. I do have a crappy little mesh ball but it’s prettty naff, I’d rather a pot with a strainer in it.
