I was wondering if you guys could spec me a gaming computer. I have £1600 budget to work with. I don't need a mouse, keyboard, or windows. I currently use an Acer XB240H A 144Hz monitor if that matters. I'm a bit fussy when it comes to AMD or Intel, but please only Intel. Unless I would get better performance on a Ryzen for this budget? Preferably a 1080 + i7 if possible. Thanks.

Hi,

Do want a certain colour scheme for the case (black/white etc) or maybe a specific form factor (cube/tower etc)?

Looking at your monitors spec it is only 1080P so a GTX1070 would be overkill for you,

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,444.43 (includes shipping: £12.60)

Or go for Ryzen and still have an excellent gaming system,

Ive tried to make this look all white and flashy.

Thanks for the reply stulid, the Polaris is currently out of stock :( and would there be a benefit of having a 1080 instead of 1070? my budget is £1600 so got a little extra room.. Would it also be better to go for 3200mhz ram instead of 3000? or won't notice much? I mainly play Black desert which is quite demanding.

Black desert like many other MMO's isn't optimised for many cores. What matters is the single thread performance, so you'd want a i5 8600k or i7 8700k with a decent overclock and cooling. You won't notice much difference RAM wise, and GPU wise as stulid said a nvidia 1080 would be overkill for 1080p resolution (it would be more for 1440p), so the 1070 is more than decent.

RAM speed doesnt gain you much after 3000Mhz.

stunning, thought about the p300 and uprating the Cooler a bit , as the i7 K overclocked puts out some heat!!!!!!!! why most delid

actually saves you £6

and £2 more

worth adding to the p300 or p400, two 140mm front fans - very quiet with good airflow

Part are ordered.. decided to go for everything Stulid suggested, and added the cooler and extra fans orbitalwalsh linked. Thanks for the help, much appreciated!

You dont need the extra fans with the P400, it already has two preinstalled, see if you can cancel them off the order in the morning.

The cooler is specced is fine also.

Possitive pressure , less dust being drawn through .
Having used one,2 to 20 of them, they still are restrictive for airflow . You can run those Wing Boost at 90% without any sound

Sponsored build with the P400 from a long while ago

P300 is you went for it doesn't have any front intake .
Can move front 120 in the P400 to the top, and have two 140 at the front .
Set fan speed for the intakes to be higher then the exhausts , and should have good airflow and positive pressure .
Also for half price, pretty nice saving

yo orbital is it worth setting fan speed for intakes higher than on my build too, if so if there a speed you can recommend in my p400s?

its mainly for positive air pressure and keeping the components fed the air - its all done to users taste to be honest, I have my exhausts at lowest settings as the heat will be forced out of any gaps regardless with positive pressure, I set my front fans to as loud as possible that Im comfortable with - i dont game with sound or headphones currently so my choices of fans are on the expensive side haha
