So I googled it...apparently it could be if they have too much human food, if they have plaque and/or from licking their bits. Lovely!
The good news is I can buy them a toothbrush and clean their teeth for them. Winning !
Dental sticks would be better, our dog has 2 a day and her teeth are perfect.

Haha, them days are gone now. I only go after the 9/10 now, or more accurately, they go for me.
They don't really do those for cats. I've found treat sticks or biscuits but they bother one of my cats tummy so it's a choice of smelly breath or dealing with a cat with an upset stomach

Whiskas do dentabites, maybe try those? A one off shouldn’t be too much trouble.
