Rose tinted glasses. What about Furiosa/Charlize Theron in Mad Max and Atomic Blonde? Rey in Star Wars. Jyn Erso in Rogue One. Wonder Woman. Harley Quinn. Cersei Lanister. Daenerys Targaryen. Eleven in Stranger Things. The list goes on.

Can't believe I wasted 7mins watching that. I don't think anybody believed Claire was the main protagonist in JW, it was more of a two-hander with Owen and it was always going to be. I'm not saying she's a great character, it's a pretty well-worn path she treads. But sheesh.

 
I've not watched the video, but I was going to say she's not supposed to be a tough female lead.

Not every woman has to be. Some can be flawed humans without the movie being sexist.
 
Feminism vs Jurassic World Vid - The vid wasn't about her being "strong" or not, it was about the director himself saying she was the main protagonist whose feminism as at the core of the film - or in other words utter rubbish :D

But when did he say that? It might have been after reading the first script etc. It seems a bit silly to get riled up about one opinion of what a character 'should' be (regardless if it's the director's -- whereas most people should just watch the film and make their own decision on what Claire's role is.
 
It's starting getting into "your opinion vs my opinion" territory which is boring for everyone else so I'll not continue to post about it.
 
Meh sums up my feelings after watching that. It doesn't know what it wants to be and what an odd mash up of clips to use.
 
Yeah, feeling a bit Meh towards that trailer, seeing as it basically tells 75% of the story, why bother going to see it now?
 
another 'meh' and yeah that looked like most of the story anyway.

and really, they are championing dinosaur rights now?!? Is this a parody of stupid americans?
 
Well, that removes any suspense from the Carnotaurus scene then as you know the T-Rex is just gonna storm in and end it all.

My main feeling was sadness for the dinos. Especially that poor ankylosaur that hit the water just after the orb-thing.I wonder how many more people Claire will get killed.

Might then turn into a T-Rex chase...... ok grasping at straws here but still.

So want this to be good, but fear it's pretty much filler inbetween the trailer scenes

SPOILER ABOUT THE REST OF THE STORY THE TRAILER DOESN'T SHOW, I WAS WRONG IN MY POST ABOVE -

So reading a few comments so far it looks like the action in the trailer of them escaping the Volcano etc is just the 1st half of the movie. Once the dinos are saved they're moved to a "safe location" for the other half of the film. I read more but don't want to spoil the movie for people.
