I loathe those sequential indicators, not sure why. It would actually stop me buying a car with them.....

Me too, don’t know why but I detest them- the bloody things are even appearing on trucks now!I loathe those sequential indicators, not sure why. It would actually stop me buying a car with them.....![]()
Only thing that bothers me with rear wheel drive is its pants in anything but ideal conditions.

that is the 2020 audi s3
Its probably worth pointing out that the "super sports seats" are merely a different seat back (and thus fixed headrest) the seat bases are the same between the normal "S" seat and the "Super". So it you are looking at this from a comfort POV, go and sit in both first, as the lack of headrest mobility in the super seats might put you off. It certainly made me question the cost of the option!
I'd have to say though, the choice between the two in your OP come down to driving dynamics. Do you want something that feels more raw and connected, or do you want it to be effortlessly fast in any weather, but far more numb?
I'd say the interior is far nicer in the S3, the 1/2-series just feels cheaper, the infotainment systems are a matter of preference, both are nice, but virtual cockpit on the Audi is superb.
In the end for me it came down to needing more than 2 doors, and preferring the styling of saloons over hatches.
Why 3 saloon? They looks wrong. The boot lid looks far too small for the rest of body. A4 saloon more suits.
You're having a laugh, right? Most people think that the saloon just has the "right" proportions.
This having followed and being followed by Elliot in his S3 saloon they are lovely looking cars, with an element of class to them and they have the lovely sequential very bling rear indicators.![]()
I'm totally biased towards BMWs and against Audis...
Therefore M240i wins.
I hated the 4 exhausts when I first seen them on the S3 and R I thought it’s abit ott for a 2.0T but then again they are quick cars with 300+bhp and it probably won’t be long before more manufacturers start copying to make the performance models stand out given the embarrassing amount of cars that now come with twin exhausts from factory such as 85bhp Kia Picanto’s, Merc Amg Sport A180’s with a mighty 107bhp are everywhere, generic diesel cars with 150ish bhp, and they even seem to be on every run of the mill diesel crossover/4x4 lately.only 4 cylinders and an embarrassing number of exhausts

Same. It's literally just messing around with things for no reason other than to appease the kind of person who drives his TT with the wing always raised. If I was given a car with them I wouldn't even start it without turning them off. Completely pointless.

BMW M240i (title of thread is wrong)

I'm sorry, what? I have an M135i and I don't find that to be the case at all.
