Diane Abbott: "Fire puts out water"

Diane Abbott has a low IQ so it's inevitable she'll be prone to silly mistakes, she wouldn't be any where near a position of power if she were judged solely on merit and her competency
 
Whilst I thoroughly dislike Dianne Abbott, not everything is on competency and aptitude isn't a an absolute bar. Because effort, vision and integrity can make some a worthwhile representative even if they aren't particularly bright. Not that I think any of those apply to Abbot either.
 
Empowering politicians on the basis of their race or colour has consequences when it overrides ability, brazenly shows being two faced and lacking the gumption to do basic maths and prepare for interviews. It's lovely when these people are brought to task over their incapabilities. The number of token "people of colour" Parliament, the Met and other large powerful bodies have pushed forward beyond their merit and who have then caused embarrassment is risible, if not even dangerous.

He's a pretty deplorable fellow. But I don't doubt for one moment that he is intelligent. Cognitive ability is far from a good predictor of whether a person adheres to what society deems to be good morals. Look at the IQ tests of Nazi officials at the Nuremberg trials.

I don't believe anybody gets to that position, and indeed any leader of a country, with democracy without intelligence.

I think he’s an absolute moron. I don’t think he has any wits at all. That he’s been elected only shows that there’s a lot of morons in the electorate in America.

If minority MPs were uniquely incompetent, you might have a point. Unfortunately, plenty of incompetent white politicians have done just as well - if not better - than Diane Abbott.

In the last month, we’ve had:

- David Davis tell us that he doesn’t need to be clever to handle Brexit.
- Boris Johnson destroy a British citizen’s chances of justice because he couldn’t be bothered to read his brief.
- Damian Green get caught looking at porn at work.
- Nadine Dorries admit that she shares her login details with temporary staff.
 
Careful, Damien Green just got a Privy Council invite on Tuesday and protocol forbids anyone under criminal investigation or charged with a serious offence from meeting our Monarch. Seems he's in the clear and it was likely another bid by the met to embarrass Right leaning members of the establishment, it looks like you are skating on thin ice there Tunney...

He’s not under current criminal investigation. Looking at porn at work isn’t typically illegal. It’s a code of conduct issue.

He’s not been charged, we know that. He has, however, almost certainly been looking at porn on his work laptop, though no one can do anything about that given how it came to light.

Along with that other parliamentary waste of space Mhairi Black Abbott is an appalling harridan.

She’s incompetent in an interview setting, which tells you nothing about her abilities in day to day to work.

She’s hardly the first labour politician to moan about private schools while using them, whatever that means.
