Spontaneous human combustion

It was a faulty mind control device fitted by our lizard overlords which had a rare public failure and our resident human hybrid Glaucus is just trying to throw us off the scent with his ramblings about science!

I have revised my theory. I now think he probably had a Morrison's Vindaloo curry.

Usually the examples of "spontaneous human combustion" are on people who are alone and found much later after the event. I remember a theory that states the individual's body fat worked like wax on a candle and these people died and then slowly burn over days or weeks. This explained why hands, head and feet were often the remains. I saw this first on Arthur C Clark's Mysterious World in the very early 80's.

"obviuse" to everyone but hte professionals, you mean?
because rear events never happen I suppose?
there is a hell of a lot of evidence for spontaneous human combusting being nothing of the sort, and the wicking effect being the ause, with multiple experiments showing it in action.

Probably tanked up on spirits, spilt a few down himself at some point, and kicked the fire off with a static spark.

These "cases" are almost always elderly people, who happen to be drunk, near a fire, or both.

It's a total nonsense that it's hyped as SHC. The bodies are usually so badly burnt that a source of ignition is rarely found. So its an unknown. If you look at a situation like this, the most plausible solution is usually the most sensible one.
