This morning I installed a new motherboard - asrock b350 gaming, cpu - Ryzen 1600 and ram - Team Group Dark Pro "8Pack Edition" 16GB.
The pc is powering up but I'm getting no display. I've tried with my gtx 1080 and with the on-board gfx. Neither is giving me a display. I've also reset the CMOS and that didn't help.
Has anyone got any thoughts? I don't know what to try next.

I was going to ask if the board has the latest BIOS installed but I assume that you are unsure as its a new board and you cannot get into BIOS to check?

Initially, and in some cases currently, Ryzen was notorious for issues regarding memory compatibility.

Try only using 1 stick of memory and try different slots if need be, its possible that your board does not have a recent BIOS version installed so the memory may be failing to boot at its rated speed and timings. There have been a load of BIOS updates released and they are still flowing in.

Do you have a motherboard speaker fitted? if so you getting any beeps?

I'm not getting any beeps, so I don't think the speaker is installed. I tried booting with one stick of ram earlier and it made no difference. I also tried to boot with the hard drive disconnected to see if it was issues with Windows being installed previously with an Intel cpu, but again it didn't work. Is there any way of updating the bios if I can't get a display?

Quite a few motherboards now have a way to update the BIOS via USB without actually having to enter BIOS so might be worth checking the manual out mate.

Also, you placed the memory in slots 2 and 4? Double check they are seated correctly too.

There are only 2 slots for ram as it's a m-itx board.

Funnily enough, I just had this exact problem with my Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 and Ryzen 5.

This thread saved me! Thanks guys.

Turned out I hadn't plugged in the CPU 12 ATX power cable, just by the CPU!

Other issue was the onboard graphics didn't work, had to use my Gigabyte 1060 GTX to see the display.

Lastly, had RAM not in Slots 1 and 2, didn't realise they weren't adjacent!

Hope it works out for you!
