Can't see any reason an all female Oceans film wouldn't work.
Exactly, if (and it's a big if) the story is good enough then it shouldn't even be noticeable who the actors are as you should be sucked into the movie.

My guess would be -
All female cast of an original film = No issue.
All female cast in a remake of a hugely popular film which starred an all male cast = Issue.
That issue being "is the film solely being made 'female only' for a very specific reason needed by the storyline" or it simply to show "women can do it too"?
From my own point it's not something I'd see in the cinema but I'd rent it if the film is good, regardless of casting.
The reason for this should be obvious, assuming you aren't an MRA red pill nutter. You don’t get male rehashes.

And then the big reveal in 10 will be that the head thief is George Clooney's mum. INDERPTION.I bet they went with Ocean's 8 as they are already thinking about making a 9 & 10![]()
It occurred to me recently that the film industry may feel rehashes with an women leads may be more profitable due to a marginally greater number of women going to the cinema than men. But if this is the thought behind it, then I suggest it's flawed. While it's true that more women do go to the cinema I would expect more money to be spent my men overall. Men are probably likely to buy more drink and popcorn in the cinema and when a couple go to the cinema together then it's more likely the man buys the tickets.
So disenfranchising men will likely have a long term negative affect on profits as they simply won't want to go to the cinema to watch an all female lead film, whether with their mates or with their partners.
Indeed. Then the cinema chains will choose which films to show based on their expected overall profit. So they will stop prioritising films that they don't sell enough concessions for.Concessions only benefit the cinema chain, not the movie studios who make the films.
Blue is the warmest colour (albeit without the horses/Americans etc, but it's actually a very good film too)
You're welcome.
