PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

I've recently got thisbgame and I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm about 5 hours in and the lowest I've got is #12!!! Seem to average around 30.

I've been trying a few duo games with randoms online and I constantly keep getting paired with Chinese people who don't speak English!!

Get onto Discord and join a PUBG room with other OcUK peoples! Squad play is definately more fun.

Ooooh, 1.0 is nearly upon us :D

I held off from early access as I thought the price of admission was too high for an early access title and to be honest, I am still undecided.

What can we expect tomorrow on the Steam community forums?

Joyful paradise or umpteen new buyers upset that game is bugged or early access players complaining about problems or is it just not that bad?

If there is a release discount, I will bite I think.

Interesting to launch your game to 1.0 on Steam Winter sale launch day :D

Squad play is definitely more fun, but can be more annoying. As in, you're the first to die (happens to me a lot) watch the others play for 20 minutes before you start again.

I don't quite understand how I don't kill more people too. I have a few different times where I'm firing shots at someone's chest. They aren't that far away, probably within the 100m but nothing seems to happen. No blood, no damage given. Then trying to figure out bullet drop off when I can't see where my bullets hit (is this just me? Is it my graphics settings to low?) is a real pain the backside.

I'm also quite an impatient player of games. I'm usually the guy in other games that's died the most, but generally has a high kill count. That style of play obviously doesn't work in PUBG so I'm trying to think more about survival than kills. Don't give your position away unless you have to (this is the main one that still gets me killed).

Anyway, any tips are welcome :)

Patience and teamwork.

I'm sure the guys I play on Discord are sick of me whinging about it, but I'm always extremely insistent on DROPPING CLOSE TOGETHER! The squads that don't survive the initial drop zone are those who end up spread up over ~200 meters, and get picked off one by one at the hands of a cohesive team. The game should be played like Brothers in Arms half the time; someone drawing fire, being supported by someone flanking.

And if your teammate is under fire, STOP LOOTING and go give assistance. Grinds my gears when I see a teammate go down, and our 3rd or 4th guy is "just finishing looting this room" before going to help. Those extra few seconds can get a teammate back up before he's executed, and you're left to play a squad match as a 3-team.

just go buy it from cdkeys.com its 20 quid.you will make that back from regular play just selling free crates in game from playing in a few weeks.you can lose at this game if you play it regular even makes you money lol.

as for bugs i play most days the amount of bugs is very very small.battlefield has way more bugs . just get it and enjoy it.its a fun game. best played with others on voice comes.

as to andy. i guess it depends on what kind of player you are. some people are hunters go after all people they see for kills.some people are a bit more slower paced wait for oppurtunity or campers :D

none is wrong if you choose right decision when it matters.

the key things with pubg is learning which guns suit you the best or you most succesful with . learning to read where the circle might end.once you played enough you can predict it pretty accurately.also and i think this is a massive thing.learn when to move to whatever location at the time in the game and where to move from. always try and pick two locations.then work out which is easier to move from if ambushed or caught out.always try and have a vehicle aswell.many like to go on foot but i find a vehicle is pretty much essential to much of my gameplay.

Never used discord before, is it just like teamspeak? Is there an ocuk channel?
I've not used TeamSpeak, but just download Discord and install. The link to the OcUK channel is in the 2nd post of the PC Games forum. You'll see a number of PUBG rooms, so just ask if anyone is looking for an extra player :).

Annoyingly I did this right, then wrong in a game just now. I was in a big city, on the west side, literally right against the circle. The new circle was quite a treck. I'd taken a bit of fire on one roof, so repositioned and found a vehicle, right on the edge of the circle too. I waited until 10 seconds before the circle was to move and drove to the next circle. Took a little fire on the way, bailed out and ran into the next circle, lots of warehouse type buildings. I moved to the last building and was literally with the circle against my back as it closed in.

Then, for some reason, I decided to go get the vehicle and move to the next circle, almost immediately. I don't know why I did this, as when I got in the vehicle, I was headshot by someone coming out of the gas. Why didn't I sit tight like I had with the previous circle?! I think this guy would have run across in front of me, easy pickings. It's little brain farts like that that annoy me. I played for 20 minutes or so, into the last 20 and then did something stupid. :(

If you're playing purely for placement you want to be centre circle with some sort of hard cover, but make sure you have clear line of sight of your surroundings so that you can defend it well. If you have a vehicle position it so that the tyres are not exposed. After third or fourth circle you'll want to ditch your vehicle and play circle edge to ensure you cannot be flanked, the only exception to this is if the circle is finishing in an open field and you can park your vehicle and use it as cover. This all helps negate certain RNG elements of the game for more consistent finishes, but does often make for more boring games.

well its either to get the test build out for a dayish to see if any issues then maybe delay or...its to wait for steam sale thursday.who knows.

It is quite annoying when you get 20 minutes into the game, haven't seen a single person, decide to leave your cover and immediately get one-shotted!

Not quite as bad is landing with a group of others, and running blindly form one looted building to another with only a baseball cap as a weapon, and then meeting a fully loaded up, SCAR toting maniac. Dead in first 20 seconds.
