As a Nottingham lad I'd argue theres nothing 500 gypsies could do to Derby that would be noticable. The Dorset softy in me though says head to the winchester and wait for it all to blow over

This reminds me of the minor earthquake a few years back, that was felt in Basildon, Essex.
The jokes ranged from £3.56 worth of damage done, to the quake causing £1 million of improvement.

We have the same here, we used to get big groups turning up & the Mrs's dad used to always end up with his taxi's damaged, drivers threatened & refusals to pay.

He's closed his business for the night before as it's not worth operating when drivers refuse to take passengers as they won't pay at the other end, three of your cars get their doors kicked in & the rest need vomit & kebab cleaning out of the back of them at the end of the night.

Though they seem to be fairly hands off without a court order here - they seem to be able to get court orders fine here if anything escalates and don't seem to have any trouble acting on them once they've been issued.

Knew a few travellers & they're alright for the most part.
But last year or year before, one of the young local travellers (why travellers? They do no such thing! :rolleyes:

) died & there was the usual mass pub crawl after the funeral.
One of largest busiest streets in the area was cordoned off by police whilst the travellers got rat faced in one of the local pubs, some of them were racing their horses up & down that main road.
All of this meant that anyone going to/from home/work had to detour. No idea what those that were from that area had to do.

Oh, & the police....main police station was just up the road from where all of this happened.
No arrests or anything happened.

They are very sociable individuals, they don't break the law and cause havoc where ever they go, they aren't thieves with zero ability to conform to the standards of the general public and they are very lovely people. The girls don't dress like wannabe Katie Price slags, either.
