Hi

So for someone with an almost previously untouched MS-7798 is it possible to add as a new GPU GEFORCE GTX 1050?

The PC details are:

BIOS: BIOS Date: 03/26/12 15:14:43 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3450 CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8130MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit
Mobo MSI B75MA-P4
Generic PnP Monitor
Monitor Model: VW222
Monitor Id: ACI22A2
psu cobra 500W http://www.raidmax.com/power-supplies_rx-500af-b.html

Thanks in advance for any help

Yes, both would be good pairing with your system. (You've mentioned 1060 in title and 1050 in the post ;). However, you would definitely need a new power supply as the one you currently have is a little shady from what I can tell regardless of it having PCIe connectors. A 500w bronze from a reputable brand would suffice.

Yeah teh title was a mistype but I dont seem able to change it :(

I am not so experienced at this stuff, why o sone 599 W PSU better than another?

The quality of components used in cheaper PSUs aren't very good. Quite bad actually, hence the price. Sometimes they can even fry components, so it's best to upgrade the PSU with the GPU.

Quality of parts, hence price in some cases. The PSU is the heart of a PC and standard recommendation is spend as much as you can on a quality part. Raidmax seem to have some terrible reviews. Can't really go wrong with the ones sold by OCUK.
Andi.

The psu is just rubbish. HardOCP gave it a fail in their review of it. I won't go into a lecture about why you should never skimp on the psu as I have already had one shock of someone running a pc with a £660 1080ti in it off a psu that cost less than £30 on here today. Just read the review and you will see why you should replace it.
