Annoying Things on TV and Movies That Get Your Goat.

Someone has to attach a covert tracking device to car. Cue the huge black box with the bright red, flashing LED and audible noise placed in an easily observable location. Same goes for bombs too, why the hell do movie bombs have to have a countdown that make a beeping noise. Actually, why the **** do they need a visible countdown display in the first place?

Oh yeah, car doors. Apparently, in movies, all car doors are bulletproofed upto, and including, .50BMG. And speaking of firearms, dubbed over sound effects. Example, Wolverine, he's being chased by a helo. with a gunner firing a minigun at him, only thing is the minigun sounds like a generic LMG.

Generic Door creaking sound effects which are instantly recognisable as they've been used from the same library for years.

Guns with infinite magazines and being able to knock someone out unconscious in one punch.

Also cars not being period correct. I saw a E39 BMW in narcos which wasn't released until after Pablo Escobar was killed.

Oh I also forgot the putting the "gas" pedal to the metal to overtake when in a car chase like they are driving on half throttle for the first 5 minutes of the chase. This is terrible in fast and furious films.

When someone sweeps a torch beam/laser sight beam across the camera it makes a "whoosh" sound. Why?! And in submarine films when they are trying to be stealthy but are going everywhere with their active sonar pinging away constantly, announcing their presence to everyone within 100 nautical miles.

Not the worst thing in the Fast & Furious movies.

When someone takes out a bunch of henchmen, and instead of taking their weapons or loading up on ammo they just leave absolutely everything.

Also unlimited bullets.

Haha the the leaving of guns and ammo really annoys me .. least in John Wick II he takes guns and ammo off the dead henchmen tho that is were reality stops in the movie

Skyfall - at the end JB empties his 416, killing bad guys who drop more 416's but he doesn't pick them or the magazines Up then doesn't have a gun and needs one
Mine are
Cars exploding when shot,
hacking computers by typing faster,
The "bass turn down" sound effect for slow Mo

- Scenes when the protagonist is fighting multiple assailants, but each assailant waits patiently for their turn.
- Films or dramas based on true stories which try to develop suspense yet history's already provided the outcome.
- Sound in space

Normal people in zombie movies/tv programs (I’m looking at you fear the walking dead) who don’t realise they have a zombie coming towards them and end up in a scuffle/dead. Now I get you don’t call them zombies walking dead producers, but every single non zombie character stands around scratching their head with a dumb look on their face when they see a zombie for the first time, it’s like they have no idea what they are looking at. Now that only works if you assume that there has been no other media featuring zombies in that world. So no one has ever watched a zombie film or played a zombie game of read a zombie comic etc etc etc. That just makes no sense what so ever. Like most people I’ve never seen a zombie face to face BUT I’d know damn well what I was looking at if I did.

Baddies who can't manage to shoot their target who is running away in a straight line, especially if it is open ground. Now granted one bad guy might miss due to the adrenaline or whatever but when you have 5 who can't hit a person it's a bit silly.

When even super big budget films still use the follow stock sound effects:

The children one particularly grates my nerves.

That is a trope/bit of lore used in ALL zombie movies, that the worlds that those movies take place in do not have any sort of zombie folklore/media.

@krooton.

I agree with the first two but the Wilhelm Scream has some history. It was found from an old black and white film by Ben Burt, the sound guy on Star Wars. He has since used it on all of his films since and other people now use it as an homage to him.

Car chases in movies where you can see previous skid makes from practicing and other takes.

Unlimited ammo in gun fights.

Fast camera work to try and make fight scenes better but actually you can see what’s going on.

Not annoying as such, but something I notice a lot in movies is, lets say an explosion that's killed a few people or theres been some carnage and killings in an action movie.
You see loads of reporters taking pictures at the scene of the crimes, if that was real life, the area would sealed off to any prying eyes.
The Foreigner movie was a good example of this at the beginning of the movie where reporters are snapping away behind a police cordon line literally on the scene of the crime.

I love the way the film Airplane mocks films with the wrong sound effects. The film is based on a 747 but there is a constant background noise from a propeller :D
