YouTube star Logan Paul uploads a monetised video of a suicide victim to "raise awareness"

The video has been taken down, as have many re uploads. I suggest looking as and when you read the thread, as videos are being uploaded and removed every few hours.

Logan has 15m subscribers, apparently the majority of them being young.

He uploaded a vlog to YouTube which contained footage of a suicide victim, and used it as an opportunity to spread awareness for suicide & depression.

I'd be interested to know people's thoughts on the matter - the internet has blown up over it (with hate).

Do you think it's uncalled for? Or do you think that it was effective in addressing it's purposed message?
 
Don't know who he is so unsure of his intent but if I had to guess, it would be for immoral reasons.

Well that sounds like a good ret-con of what happened.

Laughing when finding a dead body in a notorious suicide spot whilst going to a 'haunted' woods and putting it on Youtube doesn't really seem to be raising awareness of Suicide and depression.
 
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, considering most of his viewers are preteens they'll have had a shock with this. His apology is the standard but I shouldn't have to, it wasn't my fault most people put out these days.
 
"Suicide victim" sounds like a ridiculous phrase, as if its detaching the person with the reason why they are dead when they are one and the same.
 
I don't really have an opinion on the matter, just going by what I've seen online. I didn't have an opportunity to see much of the video, just a 1 minute clip of it, which is never enough to make a full judgement.
 
Trying to cover all of this as awareness. Just look at his body language/ how he is coming across in the footage. Screaming Bro etc with that stupid Yoda hat on. From the ground, there is no respect here.

He knew what he was doing. Down the the editing, everything is trash and a mistake. Yet, nothing will happen because hes a huge cash cow for youtube. The guy legitimately scares me. From what he has done in the past, its like he uses the lens as a comfort blanket and thinks because its for his VLOG he can do whatever he wants. Legit think he will do something that bad without thinking in the future, if will be locked up or worse. Hes the pinnacle of this youtube fame/wave that i hate.

And breathe.
 
Where can one see the video? or is this Logan Paul just a clickbaiter for ***** and likes and revenue?
 
It's Logan Paul... go back a few months when he was hated along with his brother on Youtube.
Just another way of getting attention.

Currently trying to take the scumbag award away from Ricegum it seems.
 
dont know the guy, but having it monetised seems a bit beyond the pale, you want to raise awareness fine but don't try and profit from it.

without bothering to watch it not going to comment on wether or not the includsion of the footage is right or not.
 
Hopefully YouTube ban him, he seems massively irritating regardless of his intentions (which I believe were to gain attention, not raise awareness as he claims).
