Ok.. Fair comment then. If they can pinpoint that exact vehicle then I would imagine their insurance would be liable !

But surely there's no way of knowing WHICH CAR caused the initial blaze ?
the cars are close together once the fire gets hot enough
"When you take aluminium and you burn it, you get a very, very intense fire."
"Austerity to blame", no chance missed for the fire brigade, especially a Scouse one, to try and kick the Tories ehhClassy...
It took them longer to control/extinguish the fire because they didn't have the resources they used too. That's a direct consequence of them being defunded and their capacity reduced."Austerity to blame", no chance missed for the fire brigade, especially a Scouse one, to try and kick the Tories ehhClassy...

Why make it political ?
If labour hadn't damned near Bankrupted us with foreign wars etc there'd be no need for Austerity.
If
If
If....
Some dudes car caught fire. They would NEVER had been able to put out the fire with so many vehicles in close proximity.
Fact... The Lorry company I used to work for lost 8 vehicles (GRP cabs) because they were all ranked neatly up next to each other over the weekend. The initial cause was a driver put a CB in the cab without a fuse next to the battery.
They could've lost the entire fleet of 70 vehicles but the blaze was noticed and trucks moved.
The same thing that was in the other 1399 cars unless you think one car was able to ignite them all personally.
A multistory car park is well ventilated because of fumes in normal use but also partially contained with layers so with a car fire it traps heat and feeds air like a giant furnace.
I've never heard of any previous incident like this happening before. If anyone has any similar stories to this please post them.
This seems like an abnormal event. Even if someone blew up a car, I can't imagine how it spread so fast.. unless they were parked really close to each other. In that case then the owner of the multistory needs to reduce the number of spaces its advertising.

Is the definition of austerity now just blaming the government for the fact that budgets for public spending cannot be infinite?

Fact; they had to call in for resources from outside the area (Manchester) which resulted in delays.
