Black Mirror Season 4

Excellent as usual. God this show proves plot and story is everything, and with good plot everything else - accents, scarce special effects, low budget sets, minimal casts - is irrelevant. Strange decisions were made when it comes to episode numbering and rhythm, there was a moment when I binged that I wished it had more of a stong-filler-strong-filler-strong rhythm, but that's all minute. Why, oh why does it have to be only six episodes every whenever in a decade...
 
Another thing about Episode One (USS Callister) that I loved last night:

The humour was great in this episode. Some stand out quotes:

"Stealing my pussy is a red ******* line"
"For he's a jolly good felloooooow... And so say-oh my ****" :D :D
"How I miss taking ****"
 
Binged seasons 1, 2 and 3 the last 2 days. Some very interesting and bizarre storylines. Certainly makes you wonder about the tech of the future.
 
I prefer the episodes that catch you a bit off guard and could play out a few different ways, keeping you guessing. I suppose it's the element of exploring the unforeseen impacts of technology and progression for technology and progressions sake.

There are a couple of episodes in S4 that are just telling a fairly linear story, telling it well but without the twists and turns I really want from Black Mirror. I think I'd have preferred them more if I knew that in advance and so wasn't waiting for more of a 'moment' that didn't arrive.

My favoured type of episodes this series are a solid 9/10 though.

That got a MASSIVE lol from me :D

All in all I enjoyed S4, USS Callister, Hang The DJ and Black Museum being my favourites, Arkangel being ok, Crocodile being a bit meh apart from the twist, and Metalhead being terrible.
 
USS Callister was good fun. I thought the main woman was gorgeous!

I liked the premise of Arkangel. It was a little obvious what route it took though.

Crocodile. Oh my...

Hang The DJ was one of those ones that make you think. Made me think about my life haha.
 
Still only watched 4 EPs but I still feel like many of the ideas have been explored to some extent. Still excellent watching, another one this evening.
 
Have to say I was pretty disappointed with this season overall, certainly not a patch on the previous ones, thought Metalhead was ok purely because of:

How freaky they made the dog - like a 4 legged terminator

And Hang the DJ because:

the twist at the end, although slightly predictable, was well executed

But otherwise, I found the whole season ultimately forgettable
 
I found the last ep very good although the three mini stories could have been full length episodes, and would have been excellent!
 
Watched metalhead. I would absolutely love to know why the world is like that.

lol teddy bears, I knew it was going to be stupid but that crowned even my sillyness.
 
Just finished watching all of these. Another masterpiece by Mr Brooker :)

I thought Metalhead was the weakest, but only because I too wanted a bit more of a background story. Guess the idea is its whatever you want it to be.

Surprised that people didnt like Crocodile? I thought that was one of the best ones, certainly the darkest...twist at the end was brilliant.

And Black Museum was fantastic. Is that the Christmas epsiode? Becuase it seemed to reference similar themes to one of the previous Christmas specials (White Christmas, which was probably my all time favourite episode). I loved seeing references to previous seasons in the museum pieces :D

Hoping he carries on with a season 5. One of my favourite shows by a very long way.
 
Watched first and last episode. Enjoyed them both but the star trek one was awesome. She looked gorgeous in that water :)

Also Todd from BB. Not so disimilar in character ;)
