Has anyone seen this news article on the BBC? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42561169 It appears that it has been discovered than both Intel and AMD chips can be exploited. This doesn't bode well. The part I have a little concern about is it stating that the fix could slow a CPU down by up to 30%
I love how it states that for the average user they will not notice this. To me that's not the point you've paid x amount for the performance and now the consumer will lose that performance and not due to anything they have done.
