Ryzen 5 1600 vs Ryzen 7 1700

Is this for a total new build?

The 1600 will suffice for gaming and programming.

If it's predominantly a gaming a machine i would put the extra ~£90 towards a better GPU if needed - what res/monitor do you game at?

Yes for a new build. 1080p 60hz. I'm thinking about r7 1700 and gtx 1070 or r5 1600 and gtx 1080

give us a budget and one (or more) can spec a build. need to know if you require a monitor/windows/kb+mouse/speakers/etc
also if you don't want to build it yourself, you can copy the spec over to the customer service section and ask them to build it for you for a small price. and ask them if they would warranty the computer as a whole as well

£1100-£1200 ish preferably not more than that. Just the PC itself. No need of a monitor. I don't necessarily care about the keyboard and mouse. Thanks

yeah, for outright gaming, the 1700 isn't much different from the 1600. and you can put the extra £ into the gpu to get a better one

What do you think is the best price to find the 1070ti around £450 ish or lower.
around £430 tbh. all the prices are currently inflated. i suggest you look around (but if you do buy from multiple sites, don't forget to include individual shipping costs into the equation. it can easily add up, and very quickly too.

I also suggest you go the ryzen 1600 route and get that gpu you want which is a gtx 1080.
i suspect it's slightly harder to do (1600 + 1080), without sacrificing other parts of the build. a 1070ti is a good compromise, i think

Yeah i agree with just how expensive all these parts can add up too, anyways the 1070ti will plow through games easy @ 1080p or 1440p.

Just looked at all the benchmarks it is close to the performance of a 1080 for sure.

Yeah i think the build is decent enough to play games on high/max, i know the barrier for a decent gaming pc cost which would be £1000-1200.

What do you think? Just so you know the parts. I will find them cheaper else where.
lousy psu, and more expensive too. just fyi, you only need 550w max for a single gpu system. even a computer with a 1080ti will draw 400w at the wall, so power delivered by the psu is only ~370w ish
case is your personal preference, but if you're gonna get the s340, get the elite for the glass panel.
tbh, i wouldn't blow the budget on the case. you won't be starring at it (hopefully too much) :P
