I took the cats to the vets yesterday for their yearly booster and checkup to find out that Dexter has feline oral resorptive lesions. Poor guy is going to have to have one of his teeth out in the new year. It certainly hasn't stopped him eating though as he's 5.4kg! All he does now he's a bit older is sleep and eat, and as he doesn't go outside he ends up eating all of Hettys food too.
Take him to another vet for a second opinion mate, we took one of ours and it was doom and gloom, the other one explained the problem and alls good. not the same problem as your cat but it's always worth asking someone else.

Sorry to hear about Austin - It is devastating when your cat is ill - We had one and Vet was all we shall give her this and that and keep her going don't worry to much yet - We left it to late - should have taken her in a long time before we did - you will see the deterioration as time goes by but you have to be strong to say "that's it" - It's not fair on the cat.
Thanks, was that FIP?
Austin is still doing pretty well. He's very bloated and struggles to jump. He doesn't go out much either, and sleeps most of the time. Refuses to use the cat flap.
Strangely now he's a bit older and he has his thick winter coat he actually looks the best he ever has.
It's quite difficult to come to terms with how my otherwise young and healthy cat can one day show a few minor symptoms which are fatal within weeks.
