Yer nan's knickers
Anyone heard of these clowns? They somehow got my phone number and call me almost every day. I've blocked all their numbers so far but they seem to get a new one every day so they keep calling. I've done a bit of research and traced them back to Verso Group who make this statement on their site:

Verso Group UK Limited (“VG” or “we”) are specialists in the collection and provision of consumer data for marketing, profiling and market research purposes and we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

Now obviously their understanding of "protecting your privacy" and mine are vastly different for obvious reasons.

I just rang them (took a few goes, they didn't answer until the 4th attempt) and spoke to a lady who said she'd take my number off their system, so we'll see.

Anyone else dealt with these guys before? This is borderline harassment and they obviously know it as they are constantly changing their numbers. Just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone else needs taking off their system. Trustpilot is full of people moaning about them.

TPS is becoming more and more pointless. I'm on it and am getting increasing numbers of calls.

Depends how busy I am. Sometimes, if I'm at home and have nothing to do, I'll spend as much time as possible wasting their time.

I get them to repeat themselves and lead them on thinking they've got a sale. I'll sound really interested and then when I've got them I'll start going dumb and ask weird or pervy questions.

It's funny how few calls I get from these companies now.

You need a better hobby, maybe try CB radio?

Generally I politely tell them to go away. Last one, I'd just got in from a bad day and the person was a little annoying so I asked for their company name etc to complain. What happened was a good five minute argument with the person telling me it was my responsibility to tell them I was TPS after they had phoned. They got really quite irate and I found it quite liberating to thoroughly let rip. Free therapy I guess. Will try to repeat next time

If it's a legitimate call center and you tell them you are TPS registered they must remove you from their records. The problem is that not everyone that calls is from a legitimate call center.

Once you're on the TPS list as well any new data that call centers received should be scrubbed against the TPS records and be removed from their data.

<< Used to run the IT for a call center based sales company and I am good friends with the data guy there :)

However, I was getting one company phone me 2-3 times a day, so I spent a day just answering the phone to them and giving my best horror film high pitched loud scream at them. Not had them call back.

If you really want to waste their time, book an appointment with their sales guys and when they ask you to confirm your address give them a different local house address (they do google them) and waste the time of the sales guys too :D

Breathe heavily and ask, "what yer wearin' sweetheart?"

Tends to get rid of them. Especially if they're male.
