Your Hobbies (necro'd by UKImperium)

Jujitsu. That's the only hobby I have time for what with a house to run, kids and a pesky job that expects me to turn up, rather than just paying me to do what I actually want to do. The rotters.

Im quite interested in getting an off road RC car for me and my son. We have a local off road track which looks pretty cool. I had a quick look online but don't really know where to start. I'm not looking to spend to much to begin with around £50, any suggestions?

Where abouts is your local track?

In all honesty 50 won't get you anything decent if your looking at a 1/8 scale nitro or electric youl need around 350 to 500 to get you running either rtr or a 2nd hand kit built car

Rtrs are ok but not as durable as kits and not many have much in the way of adjustments

If you do go down nitro route get a starter box as the pull cords are crap and break often

Also if your local track has a Facebook page join it as youl get better tips on what type of tyres to use as tyre choices are a big deal

This is the local track in Basingstoke (LINK) I assume its for off road RC cars as it seems to small for BMXs etc. Lots of jumps and mounds.

I wasn't thinking anything as big as 1/8 scale was thinking smaller to start off with. But I will have a look at starter box etc. Cheers

Those are my main three. Quite into Motorsport but only from a spectator perspective. Also used to play guitar but between the above and a young daughter time is something I don't have much of :p

Edit - One I forgot and which is a big one is cooking, my favourite hobby alongside 40k. Hoping to try and learn a lot more things and try new things to this year.

Guitar; I'm a really really slow learner but have been spending and hour or two almost daily for the last year and am now able to play most chords (minor, major and 7) from (muscle) memory, even the dreaded F barre (I'm still struggling with other barre chords as my hands are not as nimble as they once were).

Cooking; managed to produce a few dishes that even the wife reluctantly considers edible.

Fly fishing; only get around 4 weeks per yeah, mainly out in mid/west America but enjoy it immensely. Like everything, I'm pretty hopeless but enjoy being out in the great outdoors!
