Just sold my 2016 Titan X Pascal. What should i do now?

I would love to know how it's a silly move to sell up while it's still worth something and maybe go SLI 1080 ti or wait for the next GPU line.

Why on earth would I wait until Volta drops then sell a Pascal card when it's worth even less?

The advice in here is toxic and salty it seems.

Because you haven't been keeping an eye on the prices. You should have came in here and asked advice first.

It's not salty or toxic advice, it's just that you don't like what you are hearing. You sold a card for £800, you are thinking about buying a 1080Ti which will cost the guts of £800, and will only give you the same performance. Basically you are back where you started. Titan Pascal performance with no money. Do you understand what we are telling you?

Why didn't you just search around for another Titan Pascal??

There is also the fact that there are no rumours of anything coming from Nvidia in the next few months. So you could be waiting a long time. And, just want to add, if you want to a 1080Ti, you better to do it soon, there is going be another jump in GPU prices by the end of the week. So you might end up actually spending money to get the same performance as the card you just sold.

Cheapest in stock 1080ti's I'm seeing are £750.

So at the moment you will have gained 50 quid.

I suppose you could invest it in crypto or something.. :P

I think I'm gonna sell off my 1080Ti and use my 980Ti until the next high end Ti card comes out, hardly anything i play that would benefit from the extra power anyway @ 1440p.. so it's kinda wasted, may as well get max price for it soon rather than wait for it to dip.

No I think he's got solid reasoning, and £800 for a secondhand Titan X is good money. So no need for smarmy replies like he doesn't like what he's hearing...

He's stated he's willing to wait, so where is the problem. If we're being moody here, if anything I think a lot of this is people not wanting to believe their 1080Ti is going to be EOL shortly.

He doesn't like what he is hearing. That's not a smarmy reply, that's a fact.

You have your opinion and he has his, most of the other people in this thread don't agree with that opinion. He got good money for the Titan Pascal and nobody is denying that, but he's going to have the same problem if he buys a 1080ti now.

What he did was only a good idea if he waits until the next generation of cards drop. How long will he be waiting though? 3 months? 5 months? If it follows the same type of release schedule as Pascal it could be August or September before the Titan Pascal equivalent is out.

And if he is planning to go SLI to achieve the framerates he wants, why didn't he just wait until the next generation cards arrived and pick up a really cheap Titan Pascal.

We know from the 980Ti that the Ti cards hold their second hand value much better, they won't be sold cheap for a long time.

So, yes, great, he has £800 now and no GPU. The only way to get the same performance as he had right now is to spend that £800. Not sure how that is a win, unless of course He waits for months.

Selling now is sane logic enough, March time will bring about the new cards. If he can wait till then, then there isn't an issue. Best not to cry over someone else's spilt milk.

You say selling now was logical, that's your opinion, most of the other people in this thread don't agree. You say the new cards are coming in March? Any proof of that at all? general opinion around the internet is May/June with announcement at GTC(end of March) The problem with waiting is that nobody knows how long he is going to be waiting.

He is the one that came in asking for advice about waiting or buying a 1080Ti. I am sure he didn't think he might be waiting until Q3.

And who is crying? The only person who is crying is the OP because he didn't like the answers he got.

This ^

It was not a good move selling the 2016 Pascal Titan.

My 24/7 PC uses 2016 Pascal Titans as they are still pretty close to as good as it gets @2160p.

whilst kaap is right to a certain extent.

Titan XP (Air) vs 1080 TI Aftermarket might be a much tougher Contest?

the Titan should still win out but is the margin that big? Kaap be interested to hear your thoughts.

Of course forgetting your comment of all "titans should be WC" :p

Air vs Air?is their such a big difference?

Air v Air it would be very close and for gaming it would not matter but the old Titan Pascal would be a very tiny bit faster when both are overclocked.

Check out the Super Position Bench thread as this is a good guide going forward.
