bbc drops itself in the...ya know. (discrimination)

Who wouldn’t “allow” you to have such an organisation? Besides, the whole is that for years the entire police force has been the “White police association”.

But anyway, that’s not the question I asked. What issues facing white police officers would a white police association offer support for?
I am not a police officer so why would I know?
I am suggesting that colour makes no difference to doing a job!

Yes, and you’re missing the point that the police force, along with a great many other organisations, has been institutionally racist for a long time. I don’t doubt that you could have a black police officer as good as a white police officer, but if he’s going to be held back on account of his skin colour, or verbally abused or otherwise bullied, then it’s hardly surprising that he might need a support network.

Not true! Police are not racist.

My segregating themselves, yer what a brilliant move!

Why am I paying for my race to be actively discriminated against in my own country? I'm literally cancelling my TV license today

Pretty sure it's illegal to exclude ANY race from applying for a job, even white people :D

My license expired in November and I have no plans to renew it. The BBC is full of this kind of crap now.

Minorities are minorities because they are a minority. They are never going to have equal representation in a company (well, except maybe in London where white British is the minority).

I'm not really sure what all the upset is about:

Figures from the last British census, published in 2011, and Creative Skillset’s 2012 Employment Census showed that the UK was 14% non-white and London’s population was over 40% BAME. Yet BAME representation across the creative industries had fallen to just 5.4%.

The absence of diversity in the creative sector is not only bad for our society but is also bad for business – how can the media reflect society, if society is not reflected in the media?

A report by McKinsey in 2015 found that companies in the top quartile for racial and ethnic diversity are 35 percent more likely to have financial returns above their respective national industry medians. Moreover a 2017 Government report showed that the UK economy could benefit from a £24bn-a-year boost if those from BAME backgrounds progressed in work at the same rate as their white counterparts.

Creative Access fills a gap in the current creative landscape by helping young people from black, Asian and other non-white minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, to secure paid training opportunities in creative companies, and supporting them into full-time employment.

Our vision is that in the longer term, our interns will progress to management positions, and in turn bring in others from under-represented communities in alongside them.

Minority or majority is completely irrelevant though. It is saying that only people from a non-white background can apply, if it is to appeal to other people from a non-white background - I think similar to what the police do in some areas of a high non-white population then not only is it the employer being racist as they are discriminating against people from a white background, but also the people they are appealing to. But of course positive discrimination ensures that racism can only work one way.

rubbish far from it

And you are basing this on what facts?

in 2016 said:
The number of black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) staff employed by the BBC rose by just 42 to 2,405, an increase from 11.9% to 12.2%, according to figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Broadcast magazine.

Not real ones obviously. You really do just come out with every cliche stereo typically ignorant thing to say in all of these threads, it's pretty impressive to be that obstinate in ones views that you are completely resistant to influence by facts.

Though to answer Tunney, I'm not sure they have a diversity problem, if their make up is 12.2% compared to the national average of 12.9%, but I don't think you can argue they aren't majorly white, like the rest of the Country.

.

I was "Oop North" a couple of years ago around Scunthorpe, I spotted a job ad looking for workers for a new distribution warehouse. "Polish speakers only"

No wonder that part of the world voted heavily for Brexit

good thing it is not a job

it Is Crap to you because you simply dont understand.

Minorities are minorities because they are a minority. They are never going to have equal representation in a company (well, except maybe in London where white British is the minority).

Again, Complete failure to understand something which 5 minutes of research would enlighten you.

There are several workplaces which offer a 'guaranteed interview' to people with disabilities or from certain ethnic backgrounds, but to limit applications to people from a particular group, where membership of that group has no bearing on the job is clear discrimination, and illegal.

Firstly I really do think the BBC advert is completely racist. That however isn't, it just simplifies things, it's a skill or a qualification. Up the road from me there is Bicester Village, they often advertise jobs for Mandarin speaking store assistants only because a good deal of their customers speak Mandarin.
