For those who don’t know, torrent files are not in and of themselves intrinsically illegally.
If an ISP cut you off, all your smart services would no longer work (thermostats, up cameras etc). There is some truth to what they say but the reality of it happening is slim.
according to the latest warning from a popular US Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Armstrong Zoom, which has around one million customers in the United States
"Wreck havoc" never heard that said before.
"Wreak havoc" yeah. Terrible article, does anybody bother proof reading anymore?
Has anyone here actually received a warning from their ISP about usage?

I got one recently from Plusnet saying they had been contacted by a 3rd party who wanted my details about a suspected torrent dl.
The warning consisted of reassuring me they wouldn't pass on my details, asking me if anyone else was using my computer/wifi - to make sure my computer security was up to date, and if it happened again, they would have to send me the same email asking if everything was ok....
I've heard VM and Sky have sent them out in the past but I've never received anything myself, curious how much you have to Torrent to qualify.
Badge of honor for torrent users, frame them.![]()
I don't think it's quantity per se, just if you dl one that is being tracked by one of these 3rd parties - so obviously the more you do the more chance of doing one of those.
No as in proof reading or no as in the headline is correct? No[e
Surely if you were undertaking this practice you'd use a VPN! I have a VPN just for security on public WiFi. As soon as I connect to a public WiFi my VPN tells me it is insecure and I connect to it.My friend might have received an email from his ISP recently because he'd downloaded just a couple of movies and one was being tracked. The email knew which client he'd used and the times, what file it was etc. All correct. The email explained what torrenting was and that it was the first infraction of the period. It didn't say what the period was or how many he was allowed.
