Hilariously bad torrent scaremongering

PIA is about £28 and once it expires you'll get another code for like 30% off, I don't really like them though because I keep getting slowdowns and disconnects, it'll be fine for a few weeks then start acting up.

No ISP would cut you off without warning.

Has anyone here actually received a warning from their ISP about usage?

Before VPN (RELAKKS) I had several warnings, cut off twice. I just had to say "I won't do it again" and they turned it straight back on. Since VPN, no problems :D That was more to do with the content of the usage than the amount though.

Why is the ISP doing it? I thought generally that the rights holders were the one's that instigate proceedings rather than the internet provider.

It's not the ISPs directly, they have a legal obligation to respond to piracy notices by acting on the account responsible.

I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong, been using file sharing services for years and I've never received a letter or an email warning, I'm feeling left out. :(

Will check out RELAKKS, not heard of that one.

With Netflix and now I live on my own so can get sky etc I don't really download movies or TV shows. However I don't think a bunch of rich people complaining about not getting more money will get my sympathy.

I also received 2 letters from some 'legal' company in London for downloading 2 games, one of which I'd never even heard of. Combined 'fine' of £1300 :D

Straight in the bin.

My warnings were for games, I think 3 of the games were due to the fact I couldn't get my legitimate copies to load properly due to anti-piracy measures but the pirated ones worked fine, 1 was a game I couldn't get (before digital downloads) so downloaded for the singleplayer and bought for the MP. The other 2 were for terrible games that I wanted to test before buying and deleted within a few minutes of playing them.

I got one recently from Plusnet saying they had been contacted by a 3rd party who wanted my details about a suspected torrent dl.

The warning consisted of reassuring me they wouldn't pass on my details, asking me if anyone else was using my computer/wifi - to make sure my computer security was up to date, and if it happened again, they would have to send me the same email asking if everything was ok....

There's currently a guy on the Plusnet forums who had one of these emails claiming that he'd 'shared' Lucifer, despite him watching it on Amazon Prime via the app on his TV.

Not that i'm encouraging illegal downloads but these site's are up and running. :p

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! They're "shut down" OK, don't tell the Normals any different or they might take another look :D

Yeah I know it’s sorta true, but you know the way it’s said is to scare people who don’t read past the headline.
It could only disconnect remote access, in your home access will be available via the LAN. Thats what happens with my cctv anyway.
Andi.

I received my second warning letter from Plusnet last year, so opted for NordVPN. Plenty of discount codes floating around online.
