Any one advise on a good cooler for this chip?

I have been looking at the coolermaster 212 evo but dont have the case clearance.
The case i have is a cooltek jonsbo G3 which satates max height cpu cooler 135mm

Thanks

My advice would be to see what you can get cheap that will fit.

That chip is pretty old, and not worth spending much money on finding a few degrees IMO

There is loads out there that will fit i just thought someone on here might of had that chip with a cooler they could recommend.
Everybody and there dog seems to have had it with a coolermaster 212 evo cooler which unfortunately wont fit :/

I know its a few years old but still a decent chip? (quad core 3.2ghz) or so iv been told

Not worth spending much money on that chip but if you get something like a Corsair H45 you will (probably) be able to reuse it when you upgrade. If it'll fit on the 120mm mount that is.

End of the day if the system's fast enough to do what you want then no need to upgrade.

Phenom II X4 955 came in 94w and 125w flavors, and Cooltek Jonsbo G3 specs CPU clearance at 135mm.

While Jonsbo G3 CPU clearance spec is 135mm, I think the Raijintek Aidos with 136mm height spec will fit. Even if top of pipes touch case top it's not an issue and it's a nice little tower cooler. Tower coolers usually give lower CPU temps because they do a better job of moving their heated exhaust air back and out of case with cool airflow entering front of cooler.

Thanks for that doyll but now thinking of changing cases as doesn't suit my needs any more (moved pc from living room to desk). So busy looking at tower cases

I like Phanteks cases, and they come with good fans too. Fractal Design cases are good, but stock fans are almost garbage.
be quiet! cases look good, but I haven't used any.

Great enty level case .. and while Hyper 212X is not a bad cooler, there are other out there now as good and better for same or less money. But it will serve you well.

Do you think the thermal paste supplied with cooler will be adequate? Coming today might start putting together tonight.
