Having trouble turning voltage up on Z270-K - I5 6500.

Hello

I'm trying to turn the voltage up on my CPU, set to manual mode and increased voltage in the box etc. But it's not registering on the Hardware monitor the voltage is sat at 1.104 trying to achieve 1.325 for about 4000Mhz.

Press F10 save bios settings and boot it, wont boot and when going back to the bios hardware monitor core Voltage is at 1.104 still. Any suggestions to why the voltage isn't being registered changing?.

Right so it won't even allow me to activate the Asus EZ Tuning Wizard. Goes to boot and just gives a black screen won't load and have then have to remove Cmos and reboot Bios to then get it to boot windows again.

Any help is appreciated.
 
It's a locked cpu so Ez Tuning most likely won't work. The best you will be able to achieve is to lock the cpu at it's max boost speed of 3.6Ghz, maybe a little more if you can do some bclk clocking. As a rule you need a unlocked K series cpu to be able to overclock although there are a couple of special bios going around to allow non-k series cpu overclocking.

Yeah I know it's locked but other people have gotten good results from bclk over clocking. Is it Mobo specific for Specific Mobo's with a certain bios?.
 
Specific Mobo's with a certain bios I believe. There are a lot of downsides as well such as no power saving at all (cpu runs at full speed with full voltage all of the time) which is the biggest one for me. When my cpu is idling or I am just on the internet I want it to clock down and drop the voltage like it should not keep running flat out.

Ahh right well I obviously should have done more research, looks like I'll be looking for a K series CPU Instead.
