I have just replaced my power supply and CPU cooler with a corsair HX850i and a Alpenfohn brocken 3 CPU Cooler 140mm. All is fine untill i play a game then everything starts to wurz up very loudly without stopping untill i shut down my pc, it was not like this before!. I am not sure what the problem is and wonderd if any one had any ideas.

System: Asus Rog Maximus x
Intel core i7-8700k
Corsair vengeance 2x16gb 3000mhz

What are the the actual temps like?

First thing is ensure the cooler is correctly fitted, refit it just in case.

Second thing is check your fan profiles/settings in bios, it might be set to extreme or something, when you could taylor it to a more lathargic setting, temps allowing.

Also check the CPU fan is plugged into the correct motherboard fan header.

My temps at idle are CPU 22 to 27 Degrees celcius.
I have reseated the cooler but no change, the fan is in the correct header for cpu fan and yes i have removed the plastic from the cooler.

In Bios Temps CPU +24/+75
motherboard +23/+73
PCH +38/+ 100

CPU temp in bios 24c is good but what does the +75 mean? It it goes up to that after time there's a problem.

How are you applying the thermal paste ?

And what’s your temps under load? You may need to configure your fans with custom curves

That would definitely let us help, but also he needs to check his BIOS fan settings, I've had boards before that had a preconfigured target temperature of 30c, which means the fans will ramp up for something as mundane as opening a Web browser or whatever.

Had a bit more time today as i don't work weekends took the cooler out again and re-applied the thermal paste booted back up but unfortunatly still the same problem. I did have a look in the bios but could not see anything that rings alarm bells unless i missed something. I have my bios set to xmp mode and its been like that for a long time.

I have fixed it, many thanks for all your replies.
Last night i put my hand beside the graphics card and near to the cpu cooler and i could feel there was a lot of heat coming out of the gpu so the noise all along was from the graphics card.
After surching the internet for an awnser i decided to upgrade my gpu drivers and this luckaly fixed the problem. So all is good now thanks again.:)
