I've had an issue with the alarm for a while now, it appears that the siren unit is draining the battery. I've just returned from holiday so I've jumped the car like I have to if I leave it longer than a week and the alarm keeps sounding and I can't shut it up. Is there an easy way around this or am I resigned to having to remove the whole thing? Any tips on doing that?

Battery is nearly new, when it has charge there's a hiss coming from the siren unit which I think is draining the battery.
The problem started with the name Clifford.
Had one on my MR2 turbo and it was a hateful thing. Randomly went off for no reason and killed a brand new battery overnight.
I ended up having to leave it disarmed and lock the car manually. When I broke the car for parts I took great pleasure in ripping it out and smashing it to pieces.
