Due to not being a miner or a millionaire, & the current situation with prices not looking to end soon. I'm looking for a card that will be better than my current stopgap card, which is a GT 730. Something below £70 but NOT secondhand or refurbished (please don't berate me). I'm interested in new only, please respect that. Thanks heaps :)
Doesn't have to be Nvidia

To go in a Ryzen system
(specs below if they matter to you)

Gigabyte AX370 Gaming 5 motherboard
Ryzen 5 1500x
Corsair Vengeance 16GB Ram 3000mhz
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 W G3
Windows 7 ultimate

I think the only option under £70 new is the GT 1030. Its not a bad upgrade over the GT 730, but its not going to set the world on fire :)

If you add £10 you could source one of these sketchy (grey goods) rx550's that's actually closer in spec to a 560 (probably should be bound for the asian market). I found one for £80 delivered and they are still out there if you look for Sapphire ITX RX550 4gb. Benchmarks seem to suggest that its somewhere in the region of 100 to 300% faster than the GT730. I have a 1030 in a machine and its a nice silent little card but just 10 or 20 quid more opens up many more possibilities which are a decent chunk faster.

Thanks lads really appreciated all of you. I can only find a rx550 2gb not 4gb under £100. :(
So would you bother to upgrade to the 1030 as another slightly better stopgap from my GT 730 or no? Is the rx550 2gb worth it for just under a £100?

its a pity the prices are as they are, I got an RX 460 out of the clearance section here 6 months or so ago for £70 which is a fairly big upgrade on either the gt 1030 or rx550 :( hopefully prices will start to come back down sooner or later.

I think it will be later sadly
@JessieD tbh, i wouldn't get the 1030 at all, just save a wee bit more whilst waiting for gpu prices to come down. crazy market currently
It won't be soon silicone wafer manufacturers putting prices up by 20% & cannot meet demand. They're saying silicone will be higher still in 2019

That's a real shame as I picked up some rx460 based (baffin core) rx550 4gb's for £81 just weeks ago and there were tons of them available, sure they are dodgey as you like but for 80 quid who is complaining? Googling now that same card is like £130-140 which is pretty shocking. I am also fairly sure it would lay waste to the 1030 as it has 10 or 12 compute units (cant remember), 680 shaders as well as a non existent warranty - I mean I would even be willing to sell you a card at cost as I have too many but with you not having MM access its not really possible :(

I have a Gigabyte GT 1030 in my HTPC. Haven't really played too many games on it, but I've played Tekken 7. Running nice and smooth at high settings paired with a i3 4170. Picked mine up for £30 on Gumtree. Can't go wrong as a stopgap until GPU prices become reasonable, which is going to be a while.
