Can anyone advise what's best at around this price point? No specific requirements, reasonable camera would be good but nothing amazing required.

Something small would be nice, but I realise that could limit options these days so not essential.

Thanks both, its for my niece, she asked me earlier and I had no idea whats good at that price point. I hadn't even thought about the Pixel 1, didn't realise it would still be sold. Since posting we've been looking around to see whats available and may go with the Honor 9, seems to be really good for the money and have good reviews.

I know it will probably be an unpopular opinion but it's also likely one you haven't thought of.

Blackberry KeyOne?
It runs Android and has a physical keyboard. If she is a big texter then she may like this.

No, that's not something she wants, but thanks for taking the time to suggest it, definitely an option I hadn't considered.

Went with the Honor 9 in the end.

Hey, are you/your niece happy with the phone? What's the verdict? I think I need to replace my Note 4 but little limited on money and this is an option currently. How is the compass / GPS? I use Strava for running, so it's something I definitely need to be good.

Sorry not sure yet, she ordered it from John Lewis so need to wait for it to arrive.

Have had my Honor 9 (ordered from JL - i was the OP on hotdealsuk if anyone found it through that deal) for just under a week.

Very happy with it so far, havent really found anything to fault with it. Feels very quick and fluid going between the functions, camera is great, battery easily lasts a day with my use, dont think its dipped below 30% in a days use for me. Would highly recommend!
