Hi all,

Anyone got any specific brand / company recommendations for the above?

Currently got 2x twin 5ft fluorescent tube fittings.

Was thinking of these:

Maybe 2 if we can get away with it, or maybe adding a third if absolutely necessary?

I'm thinking we should gain a fair bit of light though just from switching to LED over fluorescent??

Thanks!

I bought those recently - although they've gone up £2 for some reason. They seem fine and surprisingly bright for the lumen level but obviously won't be as bright as the screwfix ones. Depends what you want them for - if you just want to see then I say these are fine, if you want to work in there with small things then I'd go brighter. I wanted the former so would recommend these.

We've been using 5ft ultra slim LED battens at work. I've no idea who the manufacturer are as they come in a plain white box but they're less than an inch wide and look suitable for a garage or even in a kitchen.

I'd just check my local electrical wholesaler to see if they have something similar.

Perhaps Google up "5ft ultra slim LED batten" and see if anything pops up

Edit. Found them

Beats screwfix for sure

Picking them up in a bit!

Which Wholesaler did you use, as I will be after some led battens for the garage once the building finishes.

It's a local independant unfortunately (for you)

But will let you know the brand and quality once collected

I'm quite happy with the price and specs

These are the ones

Great to fit! Easy, simple and well designed

Bright output but note they are 4000k therefore NOT what I would call cool white which is what they were described to me as (as best as I can remember the phone call) ... Also seen another website describing them as such.

I'm very happy with them still! Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

But I will say that I think cool white would "look" brighter - but that's all it is - lumens are lumens at the end of the day .. And these have a very high output

These are very similar to the ones I've just had fitted by mine Enlite branded.

Very bright for what I need.

Nice!

All depends what you need I guess. I wanted it as bright as possible (within reason of course) - so I think I got a fair mix of 'lumens per pence' so to speak :)

Either way, whatever you get - MASSIVE improvement over fluorescent lol
