Looks like I need four new tyres...last time I bought any the recommendations were Continental (on here I think).

My car is a 15 plate fiesta ecoboost (1.0l). The current tyres are Continentals...they've done about 53,000 miles (since new). The tyres are between 2 - 3mm.

Last time I used event tyres to fit them remotely, will probably use these again unless anyone has anything against them? Super convenient.

Goodyear Efficientgrip Performance.

They're reasonably priced and in the reviews I read (before fitting four to my car) they were shown to be decent in the wet, which is where you need the most grip.

WOW

I be lucky if I get over 8000miles out my front tyres (2016 focus ST) :(

Was just about to say the same......that's some impressive economic tyre usage. Assume they have been rotated to even out the wear to achieve this, combined with some very steady driving!

53k miles for current tyres. It's pretty clear the option you are looking for is another set of the same tyres.

I'd suspect the OP does a lot of motorway driving.

I've got a set of Prestivo's on my A3, and the rears still have 4mm of tread after 45k miles. Of which about 44.5k miles has been on the motorway.

Correct :-)

So event tyres are quoting £430 fitted for premium contact 2s, which is the same as I have now. Thoughts?

Black circles online chat said 106?

Edit: Any views on event tyres? I used them years ago and they were fine...saw some dodgy views o. Here though

Yeah I have those on all 4 wheels now they are ok. Rated A grade wet grip which less face it is when you need the grip. As for wear I cannot comment, the first set have been on the rears until I swapped them around a few months ago and being a FWD car the rears dont really wear.

Grips wise they are good, a little pressure sensitive though, but my car is terrible for grip under acceleration given I have a reasonable long wheel base and soft suspension, the front end just completely unloads. If I put too much pressure in the tyres I just wheelspin.

But really, the fact you are considering the upper end of the types is in itself enough, the difference between Goodyear or Continental etc at the higher end is going to be marginal, and definately better then mid range or cheap chinese budget tyres.
