Hey,

What would you guys say is the definitive AM4 motherboard?

Are there any boards that stand above the rest (along the lines of the old Abit NF7 for Athlon XP, or DFI LANParty boards for Athlon 64... yes, very old school references :D )

I've been out of the custom build game for a long time and it seems like a lot of brands have disappeared, so wondering what the landscape is like these days...

Cheers,

Su

Interesting; ASRock used to be a budget brand many years back, but looks like they make some pretty decent kit these days!

I have a slight soft spot for MSI, but seems their current kit isn't the greatest?

ASRock Taichi High-end , Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3/b350 Strix budget - £100 saved to spend on GPU :D (you'll also still need to sell your grandmother, mother everything you own and your soul to still get enough together to buy the GPU)

Fixed for accuracy for you ;)

Can't say I could recommend the Asus C6H, it's definietly not Asus' best outing and seems typical of their declining "standards at a premium" offerings these days.

HAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!

i didnt mind the C6H, bit of issues with BIOS but the bios does look so so so nice and easy to use - but... too many options at times haha

You might want to hold off for a couple of months, Ryzen+ is due April and should come with the newer AM4 boards.

Yup, that's the plan man, hoping the X470 boards will be decent... itching to buy! Just trying to get the current lay of the land :)
