aorus 1080 ti dolby surround , 5.1 ?

Again @gilveber did you check supported formats for your audio device.? Open Playback Devices then right click on the device you are using and choose Properties then go to Supported Formats tab. Under ''Encoded Formats'' it will tell you what audio is supported which is exactly what imginy is telling you.
here are screenshots for my ARC connection and as you can see only stereo speakers output is supported but DD and DTS passthrough works as well. ARC in nothing more than optical/coaxial connection.

Me and radox have ours running direct from pc into the input on our receiver which is 8 channel so will show as doing 5.1/7.1 etc and give us full surround sound in games and all sources.

Where as yours is going into a 2 channel source so I think it will only show 2 channel in windows. You should still be able to get 5.1 in movies same as z10m mentioned above.

You mentioned earlier that even music was coming out all 5 speakers so I think it would be worth looking at your tv and receiver settings because sounds like one of them could be converting the signal. If nothing is being converted you would expect music to come out 2 channel and movies from 5.

The only think I have ever used arc for was a short time when I wanted to the tv apps to play on my surround so can't help with what settings to use.[/
I get it, but I have a last question... THe GPU got 2 hdmi. and the motherboard got 1 . could i use this instead of the tv ? 1 hdmi from pc to tv and 1 hdmi from pc to the receiver samsung, which only got 1 hdmi input as I mentionned earlier? cause so far my only way to have sound with my configuration pc/tvhome is home to tv and pc 2 tv- (2 cables hdmi)

imginy yes and I got exactly the same config as yours on the last pics. Using ARC input or not doesnt change anything , i got the same result, 2 speakers and stereo option on the setting

Yeah that is all you will ever see using arc.

But if you read what was wrote earlier below you can still get 5.1 for your media as long as you are seeing the encoded formats listed in properties.

HDMI arc only supports uncompressed stereo audio or compressed Dolby digital 5.1 and some dts.
With arc you can get 5.1 dolby digital/dts in films when using media player that supports bitstream (dd/dts) passthrough.
Many players do that but some need to be configured.
