Auto to Manual license No claims

I'm not so sure, unless your at the stage of buying new cars then the ability to look at manuals on the second hand market significantly increases your choices.
There's so many cars with automatic gearboxes though, not to mention its a bigger comfort for daily use.

Well you can usually pop them into manual mode anyway, so it's best of both worlds. No clutch pedal but it's still a bit of driver interaction that an auto otherwise wouldn't require.

After doing probably 10k gear changes everyday for over 20 years the "Manual Gearbox Novelty" has worn off. Thank **** trucks are full auto now !!
I'd have bought an auto car but I particularly wanted an 8th Gen diesel Civic and they don't (didn't) do that option.

I find auto drivers far more lazy and dangerous. Autos are for people who can't afford chauffeurs.
#ManualGearboxMasterRace!! :p
True, I find myself most concentrated when I drive using the whole rev range. :D Still trying to master double clutching, after driving for so many years without using that technique, its hard to switch...

Bragging rights? Most manual cars tend to be absolutely rubbish, and most premium cars tend to be automatic other than serious sports cars :p
And they're complete ***** to drive.
Last one I tried was some BMW thing and it just felt like I was playing a computer game. No feel, no soul, everything all touch-controlled and like utter gack.
I like the skill and interaction of manual cars, in the same way I love the clunk of stomping a bike into 1st gear. Autos just feel like expensive golf carts... and I'm dreading the day when EVs become a legal requirement!

Dunno what it is, but taking away the clutch and stick seems to also take away people's capacity to plan ahead, or even observe traffic around them. I notice it in others, but even in myself, too. It's as if having to change gear occasionally wakes a driver up and kickstarts the awareness mode.

Each to their own, i totally hate driving manuals as does my other half. I'd never buy one in a million years :p It doesnt help that most manuals i have driven have been fairly crappy cars in comparison to the autos (which only come as automatics the majority of the time anyway - talking big mercs, range rovers, bmws etc)

It's an ego thing IMHO. All this "manual requires more skill" is utter garbage when you are doing your 15 miles commute to work in heavy traffic.

My manual tends to go in 5th as quick as possible and then I change gear as little as possible. My next car will be back to auto again.
