PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

As a noob what are these crates - are they randomly found on the maps? I am assuming not the red and blue ones that get dropped.

The more you play the more points you get that can buy you crates that YOU have to pay to open. It is a perverse system that the modern world seems to like. Welcome to gaming in 2018.

Its a sneeky way of paying a subscription for a game that is 'free to play'.

Ah. Is that the points displayed in the top right in the main menu? I had wondereed what they were for.

no YOU don't have to pay to open them. some of the cases you get are free to open. the others can just be sold.

no it's not. you are under no obligation to pay anything to open crates. sell them and make money

I've made around £10 from selling crates since playing this game :D

Buy 3-4 crates a week using the points from playing games and then straight onto the market. I did have a large bank of points built up which helped as well. For someone like me who isn't fussed about cosmetics in the game, it's a good way to make a little bit back to go on other games.

yea. 1st crate costs 700BP's, then 1400, 2800, 4200, 5600 and 7000. the cost resets back to 700 at the start of each week. the bp's are earned for free just by playing the game.

once you receive a crate you can either open it for free or if it requires a key to open it, buy a key and open it. you are not obliged to buy a key. all crates can be sold on the steam market place. so ignore the attempt to demonise the crate system. it's similar to csgo except the fact you get free crates.

the downside........where there's money to be made from a game you're always going to attract more than your fair share of hackers.

This update seems to have killed my FPS,

For some reason I cant drag and drop ammo into my inventory now completely. It seems to prompt for the number of pieces of ammo to pick-up, anyone else had this?

Do you mean you can't drag and drop ammo into your inventory?

Try it with an empty bag and see if it still prompts you. If there's too much ammo for the space in your inventory then it will prompt you. Same with anything else that's stacked like bandages.

Do the higher cost crates equals in better items?

I only opened the the first three.

No it's just to limit you

I had a similar issue and fixed it by rebinding the key you press to select a certain amount of things when picking up/dropping

Right - what a horrible change, anyway to turn that off? I'd rather X is just left behind automatically...like it was previously.

Fast looting pretty much relies on that.

Turn that off? How do you mean? Auto-pickup the max amount for your inventory?

It has always been the case that if you don't have enough space in your inventory for the complete stack of ammo, it'll prompt you to select the quantity you want to take. I've never had it auto-pickup the right amount to fill the inventory.

If you right click ammo off the ground it will fill your inventory and leave behind what you can't carry, but only right click and it has to be off the ground - it doesn't work off player bodies or with drag/drop.
