Hey all,

I bought this card a couple weeks ago and have had some troubles which I am not sure about.

At least once a day, but most times more then that, I get this message in the Event Viewer. ** Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. ** With a Event ID 13 tied to it as well (In spoiler)

The description for Event ID 13 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\Video7
Variable String too Large

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table
_______________________

And another that says the same as above but under "The following information was included with the event:" it says

\Device\Video7
NVRM: Graphics TEX Exception on (GPC 5, TPC 4): TEX NACK / Page Fault

Each time it happens my 3 monitors goes black, flickers for a couple seconds and then back to normal. There is several mentions on google that people tried downclocking the card, changing some settings in Nvidia Contorl Panel under the Manage 3D settings and I tired them all but still happening. And it happens when I am not even gaming (which was for others I found was thier main reason), I just browsing, maybe watching YouTube/Twitch and bam. I have noticed that the temp when on idel is 58/59C which I am wondering if it is a bit on the high side ??

Has anyone else encountered similar as the above ?? I'm thinking it might be something wrong with the card but can't be sure if it is or if it is a driver fault when running multiple monitors ??

Any and all suggestions be welcome, I'm at lost here. Might even call the store later and see if I can return it and buy another and see if it is the same or not. **Shruggs**

I’m assuming your running Nvidia Surround?

Weirdly I had this very issue when running triple monitors with a single card, with both my original GTX 580 and 1070 it appeared to go away both times once I got a second 580 and latterly 1070 in SLI

I’m back to a single (4K) display again (but now have a 1080ti) but haven’t seen this issue since, I’m assuming it was some kind of issue with Nvidia Surround rather than the cards given it happened on a single GTX 580 and 1070 but not in SLI.

Have you tried running just a single monitor for a day, see if it happens then?
Actually I didn't, but probably should have tired that. :o

Nope, not running that, only using one monitor when playing so never thought of downloading the surround thing. And I just realized I never said what monitors it was. :o Main monitor is a Acer Predator 34'' 3440 x 1440 and then 2 Dell U2412M on each side of it.

Actually had a Samsung S34E790C 34'' 3440 x 1440 last week, but when it happened with that screen it shut down while the Dell was still working, had to pull the DP cable and put it back to get the Samsung working again. So first thought it was the Samsung that was getting faulty (had other problem with it end of last year) so got the Acer one on Saturday. But the "Display driver stops working" still happened, just on all 3 for a few seconds before coming back to life. Was quiet irritating on Sunday evening when it happened like 5 times in half an hour. :(

And it happened earlier this morning again about an hour after I posted this thread, so called the shop about it. They said it sounded like a faulty card so asked if I could come in with it and they could check it, which I just come back from doing. So now back on the FuryX again for the moment.

Thanks again for both replies though, much appreciated !!

Nvidia Surround is enabled via the NVIDIA Control Panel, nothing to download, you just have to endure all three screens are set to the same resolution and refresh rate.

Plenty of guides out there to show you how it’s done.

Ahh right, my bad. Thought it was extra download software. :o

Well, card in shop now so see what they come up with.

Another thing that I just checked (but it is in regards to DP ports) was that the Club 3D Multi Stream Transport (MST) Hub DisplayPort 1-4 I used before I got the Samsung 34'' and had 4 screens, it did not work on the 1080Ti card, unless it was unplugged when I started the PC and then plugged it once it was up and running. On the FuryX it works fine having it plugged in when starting the PC (not that it is needed since the FuryX has 3 Dp ports). So it does seems something is off with the card anyway, but we'll see when they checked it out.
