Has anyone ever returned anything to Amazon US?

It's prohibitively expensive to do so via the post office so I'm trying to use parcel monkey.

Problem is, is that it's asking for a Tax Number for Amazon US. How do I find this out? I've got a commercial invoice from Amazon but as far as I can tell, it doesn't have the Tax Number on it.

Anyone have experience with this?

Cheers

That's rather strange - I would have thought they'd provide you with a returns label.

They give you a return label except it's not pre-paid. You have to pay for the postage. Walked into a Post Office and they were going to charge £66 whereas if I go through Parcel Monkey, it only costs £40 (even though they're both Parcelforce - what a rip off!). I need to specify a Tax Number however and I don't really know what to do.

Just use their returns label, scan receipt and they refund you. Simples
It's not paid for. It's a blank label with their address on it.

Hmm - is the item faulty?
Nope. Just not needed.

How expensive are these shoes!?

For £66 postage they gotta be worth a lot or i wouldnt bother

~£400 worth of shoes. I have large feet and get significantly better choice in the US. This is my first time ordering from Amazon US however.

Using parcel2go, they don't seem to require a Tax Number and do drop off with a company called landmark for £45. I hope that'll suffice.

If its through Amazon then it wont be paid for, they just give the label, you have to pay and they will refund you.

I have returned things to amazon Germany and France through royal mail, always cost a load more but I just scan in the receipt to Amazon and they give a refund straight away. In the past its been in euros and they have always given a bit extra too!

Maybe I'm being too cheap. Amazon US will refund up to $15 per item returned. It won't cover the whole shipping cost but it'll cover a bit of it.
