whats a good cooler for i3 540 and x3450?

after my 860 was found to be a dead chip i was suggested to get a x3450, but as i want to try some overclocking with my i3 540 i will need a proper cooler over stock, but due to the power differences what would be a good cooler now and which could also be carried over to the xenon if i buy one?

needs to be low profile and dont want to have to end up buying 2 for each chip.

i havent updated my sig, but im using what it says apart from its now in a coolermaster elite 110 case with my atx psu and with the psu installed along with the lovely mess of cables, i wouldnt better the intel cooler for height really..

normally these are the coolers i buy if replacing intel models or cheap akasa types for amd.

however the K32 is too tall and too loud and the k25 is rated for 73w which usually been fine for me, but never used them to overclock, so rather not waste money on another if i intend to try some overclocking not to mention anything above a i3 or least with 4 cores is over 80/90w, so be too weak either way. my 610 is passive and when i replace it i plan for something else quiet, so as the intel cooler is quiet, id like to keep my system as quiet as i can still, but with better performance.

If we knew what case, motherboard and RAM you have it would be easier to make suggestions that we know will fit. ;)
 
I’ve wrote it above ;), well what case I have anyways, the motherboard I have is in my sig along with the ram etc, it’s 1156 socket. I’m currently using my phone so sigs don’t show up for me, is it the same for you?

Ah, okay. Tomorrow I'll take a look at them and post up some recommendations.
 
Your Elite 110 has 76mm CPU clearnace
GA-H55N-USB3 (rev.1.0) has 59mm center CPU to near side of PCIe socket and 49mm to near side of RAM socket
I think XMS3 is 32mm tall.
I7 540 is only 73w TDP so any small cooler will work. I don't like pancake coolers, especially ones that fans can only be mounted pushing air toward motherboard. but to get a better cooler or small tower that will fit costs about £30. Silverstonetek SST-AR10-115XS tower cooler will fit, but it is £28.99
