Hostages taken at a supermarket near Montpellier

Reports say 2 dead and a dozen injured. That does not sound good as the toll nearly always rises.

In cases like this where he is clearly shooting people inside it would be best to just storm the place and take the chance. However I heard one report he has grenades which could be a bit of a game changer.

Well America has, but the media called the perpetrator a "serial bomber" not a terrorist, because it was a white male

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/03/21/us/austin-suspect-what-we-know/index.html

Pretty sure a Muslim who bombed multiple sites, killed 2 people and wounded 5 others wouldn't have been called that...

Two things I said to the other half this week have come true....

"europe hasnt had a terror attack for a while, especially france" (initial reports suggest its terrorism)

"oh that bomber in America, I can see the comments online now "waaaah why is he not been called a terrorist because hes white and not a muslim"

I know nothing about this chap in America, I mean obviously I wouldnt like to say until I hear the motive, as thats how we know if someone is a terrorist or not, not the colour of their skin which is what you seem to think it is.

A 20second google about the austin bomber:

..."But the video failed to shed light on a possible motive.
He did not make any references suggesting involvement with terror groups or that the bombings were hate crimes, Manley said"

Sounds like it's all over, police stormed in and shot gunman

Sorry but this just hasn't been the case of most Islamic terrorist attacks, they're committed by people who have been in contact with members of ISIS or similar groups (Al-Nusra, etc), they generally live in communities where other people have relatives in these groups or are associated with these groups. I know you'd like to make similarities between these types of attacks and the type of people who commit school shootings in America for example ( it's the "we're all the same" mentality), but they're markedly different in that these attacks are primarily motivated by religious and political beliefs, e.g. we hate the West/non-believers, we're at war with the West/non-believers, etc.

Looks like I was right

Badass french cop trades himself for 8 hostages. He is known to be injured but not killed during the raid.

Hostage taker is of Moroccan descent. Known to be on a list of ISIS members/sympathisers.

Why these people aren't sent to a black site is beyond me!!!

Where is your info coming from, as i'm listening the the french mayor on the news and he has said the guy was known for petty crimes, nothing Islamic linked and not any terrorist list

3. A body is found from before the hostage situation started. Believed to be off duty police put for a jog.

The joggers were wounded, the 3rd dead person is believed to be the passenger of the hijacked car

Info from a Frenchie. European media is banned from naming suspects as Islamic under some new Euro directive. You aren't gonna get that info from mainstream news
