Stupid clocks go forward this weekend.

Huh?

You know they're not actually stealing your life... right?

BST all year for me... mornings suck... light evenings rock.

It takes 365days + 6hours to orbit the sun, which is a year
But we have 365 days in a year for 3 years and 366 days in a year every 4 years

Why can't we just make time so that 365days+6hours fits into a whole number so we actually get a real year in line with our orbit around the sun ?

You'd have to change it all the time due to events like huge earthquakes and plate techtonics trolling us, change the Earth's rotation. For example the 2011 earthquake near Japan pulled more of the Earth's mass toward its core and speeding up its rotation. Days are now shorter by 1.8 micro seconds. One in Chile the year before is said to have shortened days by 1.26 micro seconds.

If it means getting an actual year to coincide with a full orbit of the sun then so be it, considering time is supposedly a unit of measurement and units of measurement are supposed to be as accurate as possible, it's not very accurate

Or when they moved Australia north by 1.5 metres? ;)
