Far Cry 5 PC Performance Analysis (from Kitguru)

Performance looks good but not sure I can do another Far Cry game. Only played roughly 3 hours of Far Cry 4 before feeling I have been there and done it before, so doubt I will pick this up

:D let's hope they can keep this work up for even more titles. I been really impressed with AMD driver team since that bad time we have couple years ago now? Remember we waited like half a year for a driver ouch!
Day one drivers have been very consistent lately, but it needs to go beyond and get the Vega features etc coded in. Rapid packed math etc

Play Far Cry 2 on infamous with no heals for a great experience. Or play Blood Dragon as it's great fun. 3, 4 and probably 5 are just a bit dull, providing very little challenge.

Yeah, recent Far Cry games have had that "Ubisoft Cut-n-Paste (tm)" feel about them.

This one looks to freshen things up a little, though. ACG did a very good review, basically saying it had many technical issues, so was probably a "wait and buy at a later date and at a steep discount" kind of game. In other words, a typical Ubisoft game! :)

FC2 is still let down by many atrocious mechanics that get in the way of a great experience - I've still not forgiven them for the malaria, gun degradation, malaria, check point repopulation mechanics, malaria.
 
Looks good, however I will be waiting a few weeks before considering this to see what reviews end up like. I don't bother preordering games anymore as they all end up being dire at release (also why preorder? All game sales are pretty much online now and instant).

I liked the malaria attacks as it added some fantastic 'oh ****' moments as did the breaking guns. Check point repop was not a problem as nothing forced you to go though check points, though many did complain, indeed you were encouraged off road to find the diamonds. I just find the more recent episodes provide no challenge.

I'm the opposite, thought all of them looked good and my sort of game and then never bought any. Apart from Blood Dragon. Blood Dragon was ******* amazing.

The odd time with the Malaria for atmosphere would have been one thing but it got pretty old once you'd dealt with it for the nth time :( the gun degradation was so unrealistic it ruined the game for me - at one point I literally had 3 guns blow up in my hands after only firing 2-3 rounds within the space of 5-10 minutes.
 
Someone on Reddit brings in a strong point and its something I have said a lot around here. Look at the min frame rates.
Am stating facts here! They is no denying anything when AMD work on a game EVERYONE is a winner! When Nvidia work on a game Everyone is a looser! Even the Gameworks effects hurt Nvidia users for very little image quality.

Yup, that's what happens if a game gets API / dev support by a company like AMD. And not stuffed with GameWorks effects..

2 years later ... more visual effects... open world... and the FPS are HIGHER on the same cards than the previous title:

It just tells you that Nvidia destroys games when they work together with the devs and AMD makes it a good experience on ALL cards... high FPS...

And it shows the true power of all cards. If you have NV sponsored games you see interesting funny things happen in the rankings...
