hi, stuck between 2 company car choices. Is anyone able to suggest which one is best?

Audi a5 cab or coupe SE tfsi tech pack and leather heated seats
BMW 530 E (for the 6% BIK) or 520d both m sport spec

Do you want a convertible? Get the Audi.

Otherwise the 5 series is simply a better car. As you'd expect from a car that's a class above.

I own the latest A4 which is very similar to the A5 and would swap to the latest 5 series any day of the week. I'm actually looking at one for my next change the end of this year.

It does however ultimately depend on whether you want a large family saloon/estate, 2 door convertible or 2 door coupe!

Wow, so even an ‘e’ doesn’t save it from being pounded. What’s most annoying are the changes that leave existing drivers high and dry with additional bik costs due to something regarded as previously green by the government now being brown!

yeah its crazy, you should be given an option to hand car back now that they have changed the rules. My current range rover 2.2 diesel would have killed me in monthly cost if i picked it again. i think ill go for Audi a5, this was my 99% sure choice before i saw the stats on the 5 series

A 2.0tfsi A5 is going to be high 20s if not 30% BIK this year or next I'd have thought. (guessing it's 2.0, rather than 1.4 or 1.8)

I'd still be taking the 530e, whilst not as cheap as it was, it's still cheap in comparison because everything else is getting hammered too.

If the above assumption is right, you're looking at potentially £9,000 BIK value on the A5 vs £6,000 on the 530e

The changes to the BIK are for all cars not just 5 Series BMW.

The A5 isn't as good a car.

thanks, out of the 5 series which would you choose? a diesel\hybrid\petrol ? i have a few i could choose from all end the same price. it seems its just the BIK thats affected

Problem with the Audi is that it'll have a horrible DSG box wont it? The 5 has a much nicer traditional box which is amazingly smooth.

That said, i am absolute sucker for a convertible so this would be tough for me.

Cant you just take cash? Thats what i do.

Yes i can take the cash if i want i suppose. when i looked at fininace deals + insurance ETC it never worked out worth it. especially if i wanted a new <1 year old car

That depends how much cash it is i suppose. Do not forget to add the BIK saving onto the cash allowance, too :)
